Management of a nursing team and function within the Rehabilitation Unit to meet the requirements of quality patient care by ensuring that all nursing care activities carried out comply with SANC regulations, relevant legislation, as well as the Groups'Policies & Procedures (according to ISO quality standards).

Co-ordination of the acute rehabilitation nursing services within an interdisciplinary team of rehab professionals

Effective clinical leadership and a clinical expert in achieving patient outcomes

Professional nursing service implementation in accordance with the Group'sprotocols and procedures.

Ensuring staff compliance to the clinical, quality, efficiency and operational requirements

Implementation of growth strategy, including new products

Management and appropriate adequate staffing of nursing services according to the unit needs within budget requirements

Staff development through mentoring and training

Active co-ordination and implementation of the Continuing Professional Development program/ methodology and ensuring staff competence and compliance

Close liaison with rehabilitation interdisciplinary team ( therapy, RAC, doctors), to coordinate service delivery

Constructive liaison between the rehabilitation unit and other acute hospital enabling functions

Maintenance of satisfactory working relationships, staff performance management and professional development.

Effective financial management, participation in business planning and budgeting processes (including equipment) and manage nursing costs according to the budget

A vision and tenacity to develop the rehabilitation function into a strategic advantage for the hospital and company.

The minimum requirement for this position is a Degree or Diploma in nursing

Current registration with SANC

A minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Registered Nurse

2 years nursing management and ward administration experience is essential

Experience in the private funder environment would be an advantage

Strong leadership qualities and interpersonal skills are required, as well as vision and tenacity to develop the rehabilitation function into a strategic advantage to the hospital

Results orientation, attention to detail, patient focus and excellent interpersonal and people management skills are very important for this position
