Purposes
Provides services in the design, development, construction, alteration of buildings. Analyses technical data to determine project requirements, prepares information regarding specifications, materials, equipment, estimated costs, and completion times.
**Responsibilities**:
- Working under the direction of the Engineering & Construction Manager, the Architect; exercising considerable latitude, assists the manager in developing design basis, conceptual designs and obtains approvals, developing design documents, providing local adaptation training and assistance, gathering feedback and reporting results, management processes based upon industry best practices for the architectural discipline
- Determines the target capacities, features, general configuration, and shared-use opportunities for each proposed design based on Area Meetinghouse Program (AMP) strategies and goals. Reviews feedback from previous projects for implementation in new designs. Develops conceptual floor plans, style options, exterior elevations, and renderings for each new design. After receiving Area Presidency (AP) and Presiding Bishopric approval, updates the list of approved area meetinghouse designs in the AMP
- Determines the appropriate level of design documentation to ensure uniformity and to enable local project adaptation. Develops or updates project adaptation guidelines for each design. Provides on-going assistance and technical support to Project Managers and project design consultants on locally adapting designs. Gather design feedback from Project Managers, contractors, consultants, Priesthood leaders, and members. Shares design innovations and report performance of new and updated designs
- Assures continuous expertise in architectural practice by attending seminars and keeping up with all developments in professional architectural societies and national building code references
- Participates in the research and analysis of systems, products and processes available in the architectural industry
**Qualifications**:
- **Must be worthy to hold a current/valid temple recommend **.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture and (seven) 7 or more years of experience.
- License: professional license or equivalent certification.
- Must be able to lead/design documentation for projects of average complexity; evaluate the performance of projects teams; establish and meet realistic schedules and budgets; communicate effectively with ecclesiastical leaders clients and consultants.
