Lead Specialist QA (HNC)

Location: Isando, South Africa

On-Site

As our Lead Specialist QA, this position forms part of the value chain of ultimately rendering a quality service through following the Quality FSMS.

In this role you will be required to comply with all requisite standards, both procedures and methods internal and external to ensure quality standards that distinguish dsm-firmenich from competitors, and positions dsm-firmenich as a reliable high-quality supplier of products.

**Your key responsibilities**:
**Quality management system documentation**
- Ensure documentation and procedures are continuously reviewed and updated as per management directive, local standards, and regulations.
- Assist other departments with identifying and creating new procedures.

**Management of Human Nutrition Health department**
- Confirmation of batches, logging of samples in the lab logbook, capturing results after analysis on SAP, updating worksheets
- Printing and distributing of COA’s to CSA and warehouse
- Do offline COA’s and COC’s. When required, create offline requests for extensions
- Take OOS and extension samples
- Control and update FSMS on EDM (SOP’s)
- Load deviations on track wise (when requested)
- Food safety and GMP training

**Adhere to good quality control laboratory practices**
- GPL,GMP,HACCP and all relevant ISO standard
- Take corrective action required for any non-conforming material

**Additional responsibilities**
- Establish external audit program including contract service provider and local material suppliers, conduct and compile audit reports
- Manage audit feedback and CAPA from auditees
- Log, investigate and compile customer complaint reports
- Log, investigate and complete Deviations on TW
- Manage premix test specifications, create worksheets for new premixes on SAP ensuring all test criteria are relevant and limits are correct and maintain the master file of all worksheets

**Projects/special assignments**
- Ingredient Hazard Analysis**, c**ollecting all relevant information and documentation from material suppliers.**Identify and determine the risk associated with each material and develop control measure to manage determined risks.
- Ensure HA is current by reviewing all new materials and routine verification of existing materials
- Halaal and Kosher program: Maintain Halaal and Kosher data bases, reviewing all certificates monthly to maintain current.
- Request and supply Halaal and Kosher confirmation certificates to customers

**You bring**:

- Knowledge of GMP and FSS 22000
- Relevant Scientific degree/diploma
- Supplier auditing knowledge and 5 year experience preferably in the food industry
- Ability to plan and organise an effective work flow
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- The ability to be able to operate within a successful cross-functional team
- Be able to strictly comply with internal quality standards
