**_ Position Purpose:_**
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive framework for performance information management and execution across

Transnet.
- Establish and manage a performance verification mechanism for critical performance measures to ensure reliability of

reported data.
- Ensure “SMART” performance information that is auditable and ensures Transnet achieves and maintains a clean audit of

predetermined objectives.
- Serve as the second line of defense in terms of the provision of useful and reliable performance information to

management and external bodies
- Establish and manage optimal relations between all relevant performance information stakeholders to facilitate a smooth

audit of predetermined objectives.

**_Position outputs:_**
- Establish and manage a system for the management and flow of performance information across the company.
- Develop and maintain a policy and governance framework for performance information.
- Establish and oversee a data governance function to manage the flow of data in the organisation through appropriate

people, systems and processes.
- Drive the implementation of data quality assurance to ensure that data integrity is built into the governance processes.
- Establish a performance verification mechanism and conduct regular verification of performance information to provide

assurance of reported information.
- Review presentations of evidence-based performance analysis and recommendations for approval and presentation to

governance structures to enhance decision making;
- Facilitate the identification and appointment of custodians of performance information to enhance interfaces with divisions

and core functions.
- Design and implement a training programme for custodians of performance information, process owners, information

managers and data capturers across the company to ensure compliance to AOPO requirements.
- Review and provide approval for the Key Performance Indicators to ensure that they meet the SMART principles.
- Develop and maintain a KPI dictionary for the KPIs in the Shareholder’s Compact, as well as the other critical measures.
- Manage the interface with Auditor General and Transnet Internal Audit on the Audit of Predetermined Objectives.
- Accountable for the risk assessment process within the reporting division.
- Support the integrated/combined assurance activities.
- Develop trainees within the division on the audit principles as part of the SAICA rotation process.

**_ Qualifications & Experience:_**
- B Com Degree or equivalent qualification (Commercial/ Accounting or similar).
- 3 - 5 years’ experience as an auditor, one of which must be in audit of predetermined objectives (internal or external)
- Must have completed training articles to be an auditor.
- Exposure and experience in audit of performance information in the public sector will be an added advantage.
- Experience in data governance
- Requirement of trust and honesty in the handling of finances as per the National Credit Act Amendment 19.
