The programme / project assurance lead role reports into the IT Risk and Governance Lead role, who in turn reports to the IT SRG Director. This portfolio entails ownership of the Project and Delivery Assurance function, including but not limited to Delivery Assurance management, Project Management Office (PMO) management and reporting.

**What will you do?**
- Provide input into the holistic Operational execution strategy and plan, with a focus on Delivery Assurance and Project Management effectiveness
- Design and implement the Project and Delivery Assurance framework, ensuring incremental maturity improvement
- Define Delivery and Assurance function goals and contributions and lead the PMO effort and measurements across all projects
- Lead the Delivery Assurance efforts and measurements, providing an end-to-end view of project performance and the ongoing client experience (e.g., milestones met/missed, client key stakeholder engaged/mapped, schedule on track, stage plans approved)
- Develop a view of delivery quality, reporting this to relevant stakeholders
- In the event of project underperformance / misalignment with business goals, define and lead (through others) necessary actions to remediate
- Maintain overall responsibility for systems, processes and practices, tools, material and administration relevant to Project and Delivery Assurance function, and continuously work to improve these
- Design and implement a robust way-of-working to monitor the projects in-flight against baselines (project and commercial models)
- Monitor, track and report on performance, risks and compliance to internal stakeholders
- Develop, maintain and monitor the key assurance processes incl. Risk Management, Quality Assurance, Stakeholder Management, Client Service levels and project/portfolio performance (Scope, Schedule, Budget)
- Provide assurance that key projects and portfolios meet the client’s specified benefit realisation goals
- Provide project delivery input in pre-project execution opportunities
- Ensure that appropriate risk and assurance training and guidelines are in place
- Provide guidance and career support to PMO team members

**Key attributes and competencies**
- 8-10 years’ consulting experience in a project delivery environment
- Leadership of skilled delivery teams
- Executive level stakeholder management
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong report writing, positioning capabilities and negotiation skills
- Ability to convey a technical solution to senior management in a clear and concise manner
- Strategic thinker with proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
- A team player who is hardworking and self-motivated
- Ability to effectively plan and prioritize workloads, and to measure and report on current progress

**Experience**
- Matric and relevant tertiary education (e.g., BCom Information Systems / Informatics, BSc Eng, BEng, etc.)
- Relevant Programme Certifications (incl. PMBOK / PRINCE2 / Agile methodologies / PMPGP, etc.) is preferred

- Extent of QA embedded into projects
- Exco sponsor satisfaction levels
- Engagement with key stakeholders
- Practicality of recommendations / remediatFon

**Job Type**: Temporary

**Education**:

- Bachelors (preferred)

**Experience**:

- consulting experience in a project delivery environment: 8 years (preferred)

License/Certification:

- PMBOK, PRINCE2, Agile methodologies,PMPGP, (preferred)
