Junior Estate Garden Manager

**Location**: Various Estates in Fourways area

**Reports To**: Senior Estate Garden Manager / Client

**Job Summary**:
The Junior Estate Garden Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of estate gardens, managing garden supervisors, ensuring staff compliance with company policies, and maintaining high standards of garden upkeep and aesthetics. This role requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and effective communication with both staff and clients.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Supervision and Management**:

- Oversee garden supervisors in their day-to-day activities and ensure all estate gardens are maintained to the highest standards.
- Ensure all staff are properly attired in the appropriate uniforms and adhere to the company’s dress code.
- Monitor staff attendance and punctuality, addressing any issues promptly.
- Conduct weekly meetings with garden supervisors to review work progress, discuss challenges, and plan for upcoming tasks.
- **Garden Maintenance and Upgrades**:

- Coordinate and manage routine garden maintenance tasks, including watering, pruning, fertilizing, weeding, and lawn care.
- Plan and implement garden upgrades and improvements as needed, ensuring alignment with client preferences and seasonal requirements.
- **System and Process Implementation**:

- Develop and maintain systems for efficient reporting and communication within the gardening team.
- Establish clear reporting structures to ensure accountability and streamline workflow among staff members.
- **Client Communication and Reporting**:

- Provide weekly updates to clients on the work done, upcoming plans, and any issues that need to be addressed.
- Prepare detailed reports that outline tasks completed, garden conditions, and any recommendations for further improvements.
- **Quality Control and Standards**:

- Regularly inspect gardens to ensure they meet the desired aesthetic and quality standards.
- Address any deficiencies or areas for improvement immediately, coordinating with supervisors and staff as necessary.
- **Health and Safety Compliance**:

- Ensure all gardening activities comply with health and safety regulations.
- Conduct regular safety briefings and ensure that all staff are trained in safe working practices.
- Ensure staff wear PPE

**Qualifications**:

- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Degree
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to develop and implement effective systems and processes.
- Detail-oriented with a strong sense of responsibility and work ethic.
- Proficient in using basic computer software for reporting and communication.

**Work Environment**:

- The role involves outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
- Must be able to stand, walk, and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
- Occasional weekend or after-hours work may be required to meet client needs or complete urgent tasks.

License/Certification:

- Drivers Licence (preferred)
- Bachelor's degree in Horticulture or similar fields (preferred)
