**Job purpose**:
Manage quality department and all quality related processes in line with ISO and industry standards so to provide the necessary environment for excellent quality production.

**Key performance areas**

**Supervision**:

- Manage the quality team and laboratory.
- Ensures that the shopfloor performs within set quality guidelines by providing or co-authoring standard operating procedures.

**Quality**:

- Understand and implement the quality strategy.
- Ensure full compliance to all quality systems and processes.
- Ensuring that products adhere to agreed quality standards.
- Management of internal and external non-conformances in an effective and timely manner.
- Implementing methods to inspect, test and evaluate products and production equipment.
- Approve finished products assuring that the product conforms to technical specifications and drawings.
- Assist production lines with unforeseen quality challenges, provide guidance and implement corrective actions.
- Preparing reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data
- Working according to deadlines for the delivery of products
- Training and managing production line staff in production practices and quality assessment of goods.
- Tracking products through the manufacturing process to guarantee that each part of the process is correct.
- Performing detailed and recorded inspections of final products so the products are up to industry and company standards.

**Customer Service**:

- Partners with key stakeholders to:

- Defines proactive, strategic initiatives towards improving and maintaining quality products.
- Provides contribution towards business development activities relative to product quality.
- Supports in customer negotiations with respect to quality issues ad closures.
- Acts as a Lead Solution Manage

**Requirements**:
**Minimum educational qualifications / experience required**:

- Minimum NQF Level 5 tertiary qualification in relevant technical / production / quality / engineering / food field
- Qualified Flexographic printer is advantageous.
- Advanced knowledge in quality systems is preferred.
- Advanced knowledge and experience in quality control and assurance systems and processes
- Experience in flexographic printing processes and materials advantageous
- Experience in the packaging and labeling industry advantageous
- Knowledge and / or experience in safety, health and environment is advantageous.
