Group IT Manager

Our client a leading distributor of fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) products to the Central African Region is looking for Group IT Manager to maintains, monitors, develops, implements and improves all information technology infrastructure, security, communication platforms, office administrative support systems, manuals, training procedure and services for the group.
**In order to be considered the following is required**:
- Tertiary qualification Information technology or at least five (5) years’ experience in IT
- Excellent project management skills
- Must have strong administrative skills and work independently under pressure (self-starter)
**Responsibilities**:
**Management**:
- Manage all internal ITSOs and 3P service providers
- Build and develop a skilled and motivated IT Team
- Manage staff using the group’s performance management system, providing regular feedback and ensure that policies and procedures are adhered to
- Develop and implement an approval system for all external vendors and ensuring SLAs and related tools are in place
- Monitor and manage IT costs to ensure the business secures and receives a high-quality service at a reasonably low cost
- In conjunction with HR Department, develops and provides training and manuals for users, for all system tools, to explain the benefits and maximise productivity (e.g. SharePoint)
- Recommends systems, policies and procedures to enhance IT Systems stability for the group
**ERPs and Related Enterprise Systems**:
- Manages and maintains the existing Group ERP systems (Pastel Evolution and SAP Business One) and outsourced support vendors, to ensure system stability and reliability
- Assesses current business requirements and make add-on system enhancements based on business strategy
- Develop effective communication and reporting dashboard mechanisms to provide transparency to stakeholders
**EDI and Master Data**:
- Liaises with and provides technical assistance to infrastructure requirements of inter-departmental projects - e.g. EDI, Master Data, Power BI reporting integration
**Infrastructure**:
- Manages and maintains the existing Group IT Infrastructure, both in-house and outsourced and ensures system stability
- Assesses requirements and makes infrastructure proposals based on business strategy, advancements in technology, cost effective management e.g. outsourced services, hosting / migration to cloud
- Oversee and authorize the purchase of hardware systems and plan proper budgets and quotations for the systems, in conjunction with the various subsidiaries
- Manages the purchase of all software licences, domains, communication licences and their renewals, based on agreed user requirements
- Prepares related budgets and submits cost analysis for all proposed improvements
- Manages and oversees all user IT requirements for hardware purchases, software and licences
- Develops, implements, provides guidance and approves purchases, recording and management systems for all assets, ensuring an updated register is always kept
- Manages all digital assets
**Disaster Recovery and System Security**:
- Develops policies and procedures and trains users in requirements
- Implements, documents and tests a full disaster recovery policy and system is in place for the organisation, for the backup and recovery of all systems and critical company data, documents the results and takes the appropriate remedial action, at the respective agreed frequency (daily, weekly, monthly)
- Ensures WAN / LAN Redundancy at all sites that is also cost effective
- Manages, tests and monitors the corporate firewalls, anti-virus software and outsourced tools (e.g. O365) to ensure that the organisation is protected against any security threats or hacking
- Manage all configurations for all User remote and local access requirements
- Ensures all hardware is protected by approved and up to date software
- IT Audit oversight of each business unit to guide each business towards IT best practise and ensure the businesses are compliant with business and international standards on data protection and security
- Manages, monitors and improves system performance
- Ensure that the portal is maintained as the primary source of company information distribution
**Projects**:
- Provide all necessary technical support to implement projects assigned to IT department, following the formal project methodology of implementation of software and hardware systems in the organization
**Support / Service Delivery**:
- Develop and implement a reliable and cost-effective IT log system for the group that measures service efficiency of the IT department
- Build strong inclusive relationships with key stakeholders in each subsidiary to ensure that there is a level of oversight of their security and compliance with policies (such as data protection and IT security framework requirements)
