Stock Controller The Lodge at Royal Malewane

The main purpose of the Stock Controller at The Lodge is to ensure that all departments have sufficient stock and well maintained assets to be able to deliver our purpose, which is "to give our guests a complete experience and a perfect stay".

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Source of vendors and negotiations of pricing and quality
- Be the Company brand ambassador in dealings with suppliers and co-workers. Living the company’s Purpose & Values
- Monitor and control stock par levels, usage and ordering to ensure operations have adequate stock to achieve efficiencies but avoiding excessive surplus
- Coordinate all stock stakes, variance analysis of all stock and stock counts and put corrective measures in place
- Coordinating stock control operations with storeroom staff, as well as Hod’s and Management
- Ensure that all procedures in the department are followed according to Standard Operations Procedures and that all required records are completed accurately and timeously
- Monitor and report on stock waste, and escalate issues to management
- Continuously improve and optimize stock control procedures
- Ensure good communication on all levels to ensure effective and efficient operations
- Overseeing the store hand and storeman.
- To maintain a high standard of personal hygiene and appearance
- Attend regular training and coaching
- Perform any other reasonable duties as requested by management

REQUIREMENTS, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPECTATIONS
- Grade 12 (essential)
- 3-5 years’ experience as a stock controller or similar position
- Computer competence. MS Office, Sage Evolution, Easypos Point of Sale Systems & Procure.net or similar inventory programs
- Well-spoken (English language & communication skills) and well presented
- Ability to perform calculations and prepare detailed reports
- Effective handling of detailed information and consistent attention to detail
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and numerical abilities are crucial
- Great negotiation skills with suppliers and building good relationships
- Knowledge of stock management systems
- Good understanding of supply chain procedures
- Excellent Organization Skills
- Great interpersonal teamworking
- Must be able to work independently
- A person of integrity, sound judgement and with ethical behaviour
- Confidence, self-motivated, result driven, ability to deal with criticism
- Ability to multitask and can work under pressure and meet deadlines

South African citizenship is advantageous. A valid work permit is essential if you are not in possession of a South African ID document.

**All new appointments at The Royal Portfolio’s properties will need to show proof of vaccination against Covid 19.**

**It is a requirement of the Thornybush Nature Reserve is that all staff undergo a pre-employment polygraph test.
