**LECTURER: HUMAN GEOGRAPHY (nGAP)**

**Qualification and requirements**:

- A Master’s (**70% minimum**) in Geography specializing in Human Geography evidence of an
- As an added advantage, must at most have one (1) year teaching experience at a University or

comparable Institution of high learning.***
- Evidence of the least one (1) publication in **DHET- **accredited journals***
- Evidence of both national or international conference attendance and presentation of papers.***
- Ability to supervise research projects at undergraduate and Honours level***
- Some experience of community engagement activities.***
- Commitment to undertake PhD studies soon after commencement of the position or evidence of

enrollment for PhD studies.***
- Applications who have registered for a PhD will have an added advantage.***

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Undertake individual research or in collaboration with colleagues within and outside the

Department.
- Supervise research projects for undergraduate fourth level and honours students
- Undertake and arrange community outreach activities as part of the University mandate.
- Prepare and develop learning and assessment materials
- Perform any other duties/responsibilities. Including but not limited to administrative duties that

may be assigned by the Head of Department.
