Duties/Pligte

**Duties**:
Facilitating learning and training (including teaching, mentoring and guiding) of undergraduate students in theoretical and practical aspects of Speech-Language

and Hearing Therapy;Supervising undergraduate students during practical activities in relevant sites on the distributed training platform;- Planning, organising and facilitating learning opportunities;- Effectively and efficiently assessing learning through continuous and summative- evaluation of students;- Preparing, managing and organising learning material;- Rendering clinical services and consultation in relevant areas within the public health sector in support of training, where required;- Academic administration;- Participating in planning and conducting research;- Involvement in service learning and community interaction activities.

Job Requirements/Pos Vereistes

**Job Requirements**:
A four-year professional Bachelor's degree in Speech-Language and Hearing Therapy, or equivalent;- Registration in good standing with the HPCSA as a speech therapist;- At least three years' experience of working as a professional speech therapist;- Experience of teaching and learning at a higher education institution;- Proven ability to supervise and provide guidance to students;- Proven experience and the ability to plan, organise and facilitate learning opportunities in innovative ways;- Experience and skills in organising student programmes;- Skills in preparing, managing and organising learning material and effective and efficient learning assessments;- Good interpersonal skills and a positive attitude to students;- The ability to communicate and teach effectively in English;- The ability to function well within a team;- A valid driver's licence.
