Duties/Pligte
- Managing the Programme Renewal Project as part of Academic Renewal at the University;
- Advising faculties regarding policy, procedures and regulations for the review, redesign, renewal and evaluation of existing academic programmes;
- Extracting, processing and providing management information to faculties regarding the monitoring of programme and module success;
- Developing processes for the collection and use of information regarding the development of graduate attributes;
- Assisting the Advisor: Academic Planning with the development of new academic programmes, especially with regard to collaborative programmes with international partners, and assisting the Senior Advisor: Quality Assurance with the evaluation of academic programmes;
- Liaising, and maintaining and building relationships with internal role players (e.g. the Centre for Teaching and Learning, the Division for Social Impact, the Registrar's Division, the Vice-Deans (Learning and Teaching), and Faculty Programme Leaders and Programme Committee Chairs), as well as external role players (e.g., the Department of Higher Education and Training, the Council on Higher Education, the South African Qualifications Authority and professional bodies) regarding the evaluation and renewal of academic programmes;
- Doing environmental surveying of the higher education policy landscape;
- Leading and supporting programme evaluation and renewal actions, both in the formal curriculum and in the development of co-curricular programmes at SU;
- Offering programme renewal workshops and developing online learning material regarding curriculum transformation, programme renewal, writing learning outcomes, introducing new modules, etc.
- Bestuur die Programvernuwingsprojek as deel van Akademiese Vernuwing by die Universiteit;
- Lewer advies aan fakulteite ten opsigte van beleid, prosedures en regulasies vir die hersiening, herontwerp, vernuwing en evaluering van bestaande akademiese programme;
- Onttrek, verwerk en verskaf bestuursinligting aan fakulteite vir die monitering van program
- en module-sukses;
- Ontwikkel prosesse vir die inwin en aanwending van inligting oor die profiel van afgestudeerde studente ("graduate attributes");
- Lewer bystand aan die Adviseur: Akademiese Beplanning insake die ontwikkeling van nuwe akademiese programme, veral ten opsigte van samewerkingsprogramme met internasionale vennote, en aan die Senior Adviseur: Gehalteversekering insake die evaluering van akademiese programme;
- Skakel en behou en bou verhoudings met interne rolspelers (bv. die Sentrum vir Onderrig en Leer, Afdeling vir Sosiale Impak, die Registrateurskantoor, Visedekane (Leer en Onderrig), en die fakulteite se Programleiers en Programkomiteevoorsitters), sowel as eksterne rolspelers (bv. die Departement van Hoër Onderwys en Opleiding, Raad op Hoër Onderwys, die Suid-Afrikaanse Kwalifikasie Owerheid en beroepsliggame) ten opsigte van die evaluering en vernuwing van akademiese programme;
- Doen omgewingsverkenning van die hoër onderwys beleidsomgewing;
- Neem leiding ten opsigte van en bied ondersteuning aan programevaluerings
- en vernuwingsaksies, beide in die formele kurrikulum en in die ontwikkeling van ko-kurrikulêre programme aan die Universiteit;
- Bied programvernuwingswerksessies aan en ontwikkel aanlyn-leermateriaal insake kurrikulumtransformasie en programvernuwing, die skryf van leeruitkomste, die instel van modules, ens.

Job Requirements/Pos Vereistes
- A Bachelor's degree and a relevant postgraduate qualification in education, academic development, or curriculum design, or equivalent qualification;
- At least five years' relevant experience in the higher education sector;
- Experience in the design of academic and/or co-curricular programmes and the formulation of module outcomes;
- Highly articulate in English, with advanced writing skills, excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with ease with people across all levels of management, also in another official South African language;
- High level of organisational-, time management-, self-management
- and planning skills;
- Skilled in the creation of online learning material or an interest in acquiring the skills;
- Proven experience in Microsoft Office (including, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams).
- 'n Baccalaureusgraad en 'n gepaste nagraadse kwalifikasie in opvoedkunde, akademiese ontwikkeling of kurrikulumontwerp of gelykwaardige kwalifikasie;
- Minstens vyf jaar se gepaste werkservaring in die hoër onderwyssektor;
- Ervaring in akademiese en/of ko-kurrikulêre programontwerp en die skryf van module-uitkomste;
- Hoogs geartikuleerd in Engels, met gevorderde skryfvaardighede, uitstekende interpersoonlike vaardighede en die vermoë om met gemak met mense op alle vlakke van bestuur te kommunikeer ook in 'n bykomende amptelike Suid-Afrikaanse taal;
- Hoëvlak organisatoriese-, tydsbestuurs-, selfbestuur
- en beplanningsvaardighede;
