An international freight forwarder based on the East Rand is seeking the expertise of an experienced Customs Controller with a minimum of 5 years experience at intermediate to senior level.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Drafting of Imports and Exports customs bills of entry on CargoWise system.
- Ensuring that the tariff codes and rates are accurately and timeously applied and that the correct duties and taxes is processed on the draft bill of entry.
- Ensure overall accuracy of the draft bill of entry produced, prior to submitting to SARS Customs.

**Main Activities**
- Receipt of documents from Import and Export Controllers for customs clearance on the Global CargoWise system.
- Contribute to the successful operation of the Operational Dept., in terms of quality and timeous productivity of work.
- Communicate at operational level with Controllers regarding Clearing Instructions and/or the Department of Customs and Excise, other Government Departments and clients when required.
- Maintain quality control on the Customs Declaration production requirements.

**Function / Knowledge**
- Incoterms at an advanced level.
- Good knowledge of Customs Tariff Classification and Valuation rules.
- Good knowledge of the Customs Act and all related procedures and documentation.
- Good knowledge of the Customs Rules and Regulations.
- Good understanding of the Rules of Origin and Trade Agreements.
- Good knowledge of the Air, Sea and Road freight modalities amongst others.
