About This Job:
As the Customer Operations Officer, you will report directly to the Customer Operations Lead for MEA and be based out of our offices in Johannesburg, South Africa. This role offers you the opportunity to gain further exposure to other markets within the wider Middle East market providing plenty of room to grow and develop.

In this role, you will ensure optimal and reliable logistics performance for the supply of products to business partners in the relevant region, accordingly to the agreed terms, budgets, standards, and procedures while optimizing the business performance.

Key Activities:

- Define, maintain and adapt optimal supply, inventory and planning processes for finished and bulk products supplied to distributors.
- Establish and manage good cross functional communication (with distributors, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Quality Assurance, Regulatory Affiliates, F&A, ICT), to ensure the supply in accordance with the requirements and logistics processes.
- Monitor, challenge and propose improvements to the monthly forecasts of distributors when relevant.
- Ensure the logistics information related to the supply (requirements forecasts, orders, confirmations, delivery, invoicing) is correctly processed and communicated.
- Optimize, plan, order and manage the stock Astellas owns and is providing to external suppliers to manufacture the products. Avoid stock reductions.
- Initiate and manage changes to improve logistics efficiencies and costs for example by optimising supply batch sizes, lead times and processes.

Essential Knowledge & Experience:

- Proven experience in a similar role with demonstrated effectiveness in a supply chain function with a multinational organization.
- Business skills to deal with external parties based on long term relationships.
- Excellent communication & presentation skills and ability to develop and maintain good working relations with internal and external stakeholders

Preferred Knowledge & Experience
- Should have previously worked with a global organization and be able to collaborate with cross-functional teams effectively.
- Fluency in French is desirable.

Educations/Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in logistics, business administration, or equivalent.
