**Accounts Payable/ Accounts Receivable Clerk**
**Minimum Requirements**:
- Matric.
- Possessing a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and inventory control.
- Demonstrated experience in handling foreign currencies.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- Familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks or Pastel.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
**Roles and Responsibilities**:
**Accounts Payable Duties**
- Process supplier invoices accurately and efficiently, ensuring proper authorisation and coding.
- Prepare and execute payment runs, including electronic transfers, EFTs, and cheques.
- Reconcile supplier statements and resolve any discrepancies or queries.
- Maintain vendor records and ensure compliance with payment terms and contracts.
- Monitor and manage accounts payable aging, follow up on overdue payments, and escalate issues as necessary.
- Assist with month-end closing procedures related to accounts payable, including accruals and reconciliations.
**Accounts Receivable Duties**
- Generate customer invoices accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring adherence to billing terms and contracts.
- Post customer payments received via various methods, such as cash, cheques, credit card, and electronic transfers.
- Reconcile customer accounts, resolve billing discrepancies, and follow up on outstanding balances.
- Monitor accounts receivable aging, identify overdue accounts, and initiate collection efforts.
- Maintain accurate records of customer transactions and communications regarding payment status.
- Prepare and distribute regular reports on accounts receivable aging, cash flow, and collections performance.
**General Duties**
- Maintain organised and up-to-date financial records, including filing and archiving documents.
- Assist with month-end and year-end financial reporting processes.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as procurement, sales, and finance, to ensure smooth workflow and resolve issues.
- Provide support during audits by preparing documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.
- Stay updated on relevant accounting standards, regulations, and best practices.
