My client is currently seeking a dynamic and experienced **Wine Bar Manager** to join their team in Stellenbosch. The wine bar offers a curated selection of wines, providing a sophisticated yet relaxed atmosphere for wine enthusiasts. As the Wine Bar Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the bar's operations, ensuring exceptional customer service, managing inventory, and maintaining a profitable business.

**Responsibilities**:
Manage the day-to-day operations of the wine bar, including opening and closing procedures, inventory management, and cash handling.
- Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring a warm and welcoming environment for all guests.
- Assist customers in selecting wines and provide recommendations based on their preferences and taste profiles.
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of our wine list, including varietals, regions, and vintages, and keep updated with current industry trends.
- Train and mentor staff members to ensure they possess the necessary knowledge and skills to provide excellent service.
- Coordinate with the kitchen staff to develop food and wine pairing menus, promoting the wine bar as a culinary destination.
- Plan and execute wine tastings, events, and promotions to attract new customers and enhance the overall experience.
- Manage inventory levels, conduct regular stock takes, and place orders to replenish wine, and bar supplies.

**Requirements**:

- Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a wine bar or upscale restaurant setting, would be advantageous.
- Extensive knowledge and passion for wines.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to manage and motivate a team.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Proven ability to drive sales and meet financial targets.
- Familiarity with wine inventory management and ordering systems.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings.
- Sober habits and reliable.
- A relevant wine qualification or certification would be advantageous.

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Stellenbosch, Western Cape: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- Wine Industry: 2 years (preferred)
