**Responsibilities**:

Logistics Management:

- Coordinate and manage the logistics of importing and exporting goods, ensuring timely and cost-effective movement of products.
Customs Compliance:

Ensure compliance with all customs regulations, tariffs and trade laws to facilitate smooth import and export operations.
Documentation:

- Prepare and manage all required import and export documentation, including shipping documents, customs declarations and certificates of origin.

Carrier and Supplier Coordination:

- Collaborate with carriers, freight forwarders and suppliers to negotiate rates, select transportation modes and optimise delivery schedules.

Tariff Classification:

Accurately classify products according to tariff codes and maintain up-to-date knowledge of international trade regulations.
Risk Management:

- Identify and assess potential risks associated with international shipments and implement strategies to mitigate risks.

Cost Optimisation:

- Work to optimise import and export costs, negotiating favorable terms with carriers and suppliers.

Regulatory Compliance:

- Stay informed about changes in import/export regulations and ensure adherence to relevant industry standards.

Communication and Reporting:

- Communicate effectively with internal teams, customs officials and other stakeholders.
- Provide regular reports to management on import/export performance, costs and compliance.

**Requirements**:

- Degree or diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Warehousing or similar.
- Proven experience as an Import and Export Controller within the FMCG/Foods/Beverage industry.
- In-depth knowledge of international trade regulations, customs procedures and logistics management.
- Strong understanding of tariff classifications and import/export documentation.
- Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to build effective relationships with carriers and suppliers.
- Familiarity with relevant industry standards and compliance requirements.
- Analytical mindset with attention to detail in documentation and risk assessment.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Proficient in using relevant software and systems for import/export management.
