**Job Purpose**:
The Department of the Premier, Western Cape Government has an employment opportunity for a suitably qualified and competent individual to provide a research and administrative support service to innovative, priority programmes within the Directorate. This post is stationed in Cape Town - CBD.

**Minimum Requirements**:
An appropriate 3-year National Diploma/B-Degree (equivalent or higher qualification); A minimum of 1 year relevant experience.

**Recommendation**:
Experience in the following: Research and information management, report writing, project management, and administration; A valid (Code B or higher) driving licence.

**Key Performance Areas**:
Provide operational support in mega events and provincial projects; Assist in planning of interdepartmental strategic interventions; Render administrative support; Human Resource Management.

**Competencies**:
Knowledge of the following: Community Capacity Enhancement training methodology; Events sector in Cape Town and the Western Cape; Institutional systems and processes regarding people management, finance and compliance in the public sector; Relevant policies of the government of the day; Relevant legislation/policies/prescripts and procedures; Skills needed: Report writing; Research; Analysing data; Problem solving and decision-making; Working with people both internal and external to government; Presenting and communicating information; Persuading and influencing; Planning and organising; Proven computer literacy; Project Management; Accounting finance and audit; Information technology; Formal training; Economic and financial analysis; Legal administration; Strategic planning; Written and verbal communication.

**Remuneration**:
R 294 321 per annum (Salary Level 7) plus 37% in lieu of benefits

Note on remuneration: Employees' service benefits or obligations (13th cheque, medical assistance, housing assistance, pension-fund contributions, etc) are funded or co-funded in terms of the applicable prescripts or collective agreements.
