Senior Manager: Total Remuneration and Rewards

**Job Advert Summary**:
To lead the organisation’s remunerations and rewards function, Partner with Head of OE/Operations/CPO in the shaping, design and implementation of the remuneration, recognition and reward practices, resources, and tools. To drive, own and deliver an integrated remuneration and reward philosophy and methodology in partnership with Exco Leadership/HoA/HoP’s/BuL’s. The incumbent will be required to produce submissions and presentations to the relevant governance structures such as REMCO/EXCO, etc.
**Minimum Requirements**:
This position requires a relevant Postgraduate degree in HR management/commercial or another relevant field and/or equivalent experience.
SARA Accreditation will be an advantage.
The incumbent is required to have a minimum of 8 to 10 years’ experience (post qualification) in a senior capacity in compensation, rewards, and recognition, preferably in the financial services sector.
Numerical and analytical skills

- Ability to gather and analyse data, employ creative thinking, demonstrate problem solving and draw effective conclusions.
Business and report writing
- Ability to create purposeful, precise, succinct, and unique reports and documents.
Research skills.
- Ability to look for, identify, gather, interpret, and evaluate relevant information.
**Duties and Responsibilities**:
Strategic Function
- Design and execute innovative recognition & reward solutions and strategies through creative input combined with data analysis and a deep understanding of the organisation’s current and future challenges (recognition programs, incentive plans, market positions, salary range, design, and pay mix analysis).
- Design and implement total rewards policy and practices to ensure that programs are current, competitive and in compliance with legal requirements.
- Design and implement retention plans/ schemes.
- Develop and maintain best practice reward and recognition programmes for the company that enhance the organisation’s attraction efforts.
Stakeholder Management
- Build and maintain positive and value-adding relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide strategic support and guidance to internal stakeholders on total rewards matters in order to ensure alignment on remuneration philosophy.
- Scan the environment to ensure a clear understanding of stakeholder needs.
- Communicate the total rewards framework to both internal and external stakeholders to ensure understanding of these by all relevant stakeholders.
- Engage with both internal and external stakeholders to identify and evaluate performance barriers and success in order to continuously improve on the service delivery.
- Establish and maintain relations with recognised professional bodies within own professional sphere.
- Manage service level agreements (SLAs).
People Management
- Manages own and direct report’s performance to drive productivity.
- Within the Learning Experience team, oversees talent management initiatives, including identifying and developing projects leadership talent, succession planning, and creating a talent pipeline that aligns with the company's strategic goals.
- Collaborates with the People team to create and execute training and development programmes to enhance employee skills and competencies, including those of the People Portfolio.
- Ensures the development of a high performing team through embedding formal performance development and coaching.
- Establishes and maintains a succession plan for the team using the formal talent management process.
- Cascades the learning element of the People strategy and Balanced Score Card to the teams and help your people and teams to recognise their roles and responsibilities in the organisation and people strategies.
- Collaborates and work closely with other People professionals and teams to ensure consistent and effective delivery of People programmes and services.
People Management
- A member of the People Portfolio leadership team
- Contribute towards the achievement of People Portfolio initiatives.
Financial Management and Operational Management
- Contribute to the development of the business unit’s budget and manage the team expenditure.
- Ensure compliance with internal processes and procedures.
- Contribute to the risk assessment activities in the BU and the organisation.
- Provides guidance and advice on overall people remuneration aspects during the organisational budgeting process.
Other responsibilities (Applicable to all JD’s)
