The Automation Specialist will be positioned to support GSS, the BUs and group functions within the Anglo American group with designing and optimising business processes using automation technologies.
The Automation specialist will be responsible for identifying, implementing, and ensuring appropriate support for the automations within the AA Finance function.

**Job Description**:

- The Automation specialist will be responsible for identifying, implementing, and ensuring appropriate support for the automations within the AA Finance function.

**The primary accountabilities will incorporate**:

- Work with stakeholders across GSS, the BUs and Corporate functions, including leadership to design and implement automated business processes
- Develop and maintain relationships with colleagues and senior stakeholders across the GSS and wider Anglo American business
- Identify opportunities for continual improvement and optimization in processes
- Provides mentoring and guidance to Automation Administrator & Analyst
- Contributing to information gathering interviews, brainstorming sessions and workshops with key stakeholders to document current and future state
- Actively participate in design, development, testing and deployment, working with IM and other appropriate stakeholders to successfully implement and demonstrably improve the process
- Plan and deliver test scenarios and test plans, in consultation with relevant stakeholders
- Accountable for the end-to-end quality control - post implementation reviews
- Drives the adoption of automation tools with Operational teams
- Assists Automation Superintendent with the embedding and management of change
- Ensures successful transition of solutions to the business for on-going maintenance, operational management, and continued improvement

- Actively participate in troubleshooting of issues relating to the process automation in collaboration with key stakeholders
- Actively promotes the capabilities of the Automation team to the Finance function to increase operational teams’ knowledge of the Art of the Possible

**This role is at a band 6 level reporting into the Automation Superintendent**

**Qualifications**:

- Educated to Degree level information systems or related qualification

**Knowledge and Skills**
- 5-8 years’ experience in Automation
- Proficient in English - written and spoken
- Ability to break down complex data and adapt explanations for the right target audience
- Demonstrates basic understanding of fundamental process design and optimisation concepts, tools, systems, minimum standards, and process. Follows standard processes in familiar, routine contexts regarding process design and optimisation
- Passionate about leveraging emerging technology to simplify processes
- Able to work highly independently and manage multiple priorities
- Deliver presentations and materials, targeted at the appropriate level to engage senior management
- Manage multiple tasks concurrently and work to deadlines
- A demonstrable working knowledge of PowerApps, Power Automate Automation AnyWhere, Python, Excel, macros, Winshuttle
- Build productive, effective, and collaborative partnerships - internal and external
- Communicate via strong written and verbal skills and ability to present in a clear and concise manner to all levels within the organisation
- Think clearly, analyze quantitatively, problem-solve, scope business requirements, and prioritize task
