Senior Accounts Payable Controller

- Payments
Ensure vendors are paid in a timely manner and maintain payment terms.
Manage the weekly payment cycle as well as emergency payments for the business.
Weekly management of aged creditors and cash flow.
Review and ensure clean invoice monitor maintained by:
Ensuring efficient and timely processing of all supplier invoices and employee expenses.
Ensuring efficient and timely review of all travel related expenses as well as inputs into the goods clearing and forwarding invoice handling and review of clearing accruals.
Actively manage parked documents, ensuring clean ledgers.
Ensuring all queries (internal and external) answered on a timely basis.
Ensure cash flow is monitored and regular payments are made to head office (Austria).
- Compliance
Review coding of invoices/expenses to ensure accuracy of accounts in relation to Group Controlling guidelines and VAT compliance
Monthly EMP201 submissions.
Ensure withholding tax compliance for all foreign athlete and foreign entertainer invoices
Review, document, maintain and regularly test internal controls to maintain first class control environment in accordance with company policy.
Update written procedure manuals to always ensure accuracy of the manuals.

Vendor Master file maintenance including new supplier set up, bank detail changes, and archiving of old vendors.
Management of filing (paper and electronic on shared folders).
General systems maintenance - SAP, iVerify, CONCUR and OCR systems.

Ensure AP ledger closed in accordance with month end timetable.
Reconciliation of all trade creditor balances within the general ledger and statements.
Monthly accruals for major suppliers, any other un-posted invoices and payroll postings.
Monthly review with Chief Accountant - key account reconciliation's, KPI's.
Process reallocation of incorrectly coded expenses monthly.
Monthly review of PPV postings for FG and POS.
Management of year end close process (creditors).

Training - ongoing support and training for the business on iVerify, SAP, controls and procedures.
Statutory audit/internal audit - preparation and handling of document requests.
Continuous improvement of full AP process with focus on vendor take on, vendor management and vendor payment
Project management of any SAP projects and systems upgrades
Any other duties as required by your line manager
- KEY SUCCESS FACTORS
Accurate processing and maintenance of clean ledgers; adherence to KPI's
Full delivery and ownership of accurate financial information including compliance with ZA regulations (PAYE, VAT, Income tax)
Pass external Audit with no comments
EXPERIENCE**
Your areas of knowledge and expertise**:

- Minimum 3-5 years AP experience in commercial environment (ideally FMCG)
- SAP experience (FI, BI)
- Proficient in MS Office - especially MS Excel
- Project Management experience is a plus
- Exchange control, VAT
- Sound understanding of accounting concepts, with the ability to explain processes to internal stakeholders.
- First class oral and written communication skills.
- Strong reconciliation skills with the ability to provide meaningful analysis of large quantities of data.
- Deadline driven, ability to work under pressure.
- Proactive with the ability to work independently and with other team members in achieving common goals.
