**Job Description**:

- Job responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

- Create a safety culture through productive and authorized operational systems/processes that allow all employees.
- Including contracting partners to provide their outputs in a risk-controlled environment.
- Contribute to the development of an integrated Group Occupational Health and Hygiene Management Programme.
- Provide advice and support with the implementation of occupation health and hygiene strategy, policies and programmes in the business unit (BU) operations.
- Support data collation and analysis of global, regional and industry trends in occupational hygiene management, practices, and developments for internal benchmarking
- Support studies of internal trends, incidents, practices, and developments to prioritise critical focus areas and design innovative pathways to introduce sustainable step change in occupational hygiene management.
- Support the consolidation, execution and prioritisation of BU Occupational Hygiene interventions.
- Support the capture and transfer of Occupational Health and Hygiene Best Practice and Knowledge sharing to ensure that lessons learned are captured and incorporated into integrated management policies, practices and systems.
- Conduct audits and inspections of operations to ensure that they comply with standards, guidelines and specifications.
- Support the implementation of Occupational Health and Hygiene management systems and procedures at sites.
- Create a purpose-led, high-performing culture within the discipline that is aligned with the company values, is inclusive and promotes diversity on Act as a role model and actively engage as a team member in all team processes.
- Ensure discipline with external (legislative, regulatory, permitting) requirements, Anglo American standards, and CA&SI governance.

**This role is at a GBF 5 level, reporting to the Head of SHE & Permitting.**

**Qualifications
- You will need the following**:

- A post graduate qualification in occupational hygiene
- Qualification in Ventilation Engineering will be advantageous.
- Registered with a relevant professional institution or body as Occupational Hygienist
- Mine Public Health will also be beneficial.

**Experience**
- At least 7-10 years post qualification experience in the Mine Environmental Engineering & Public Health.
- At least 3-5 year’ experience in underground occupational hygiene management.

**Knowledge and Skills**
- In depth knowledge of the anticipation, identification, evaluation and control of hazards in and around the workplace which are detrimental to the health of workers, the community and the environment.
- Track record of leading ideas generation; translating these into practical initiatives to be implemented and demonstration of successful execution and delivery within occupational Health and Hygiene
- Understanding of technical aspects across multiple occupational hygiene work streams in order to integrate a multidisciplinary approach to management of occupational health risks.

- Medical Certificate
- Ad-hoc requirements from time to time, including need to travel.
