**STRATEGIC ACCOUNTABILITY OF THE POSITION**
- The position is aligned to Faculty’s mandate to provide an educational experience that is unique, relevant to industry, and allows students the opportunity to develop their skills in the 4IR.
- The core focus of the role is to ensure the successful development of electronic learning content, management and expansion of all programmes, and contribute to innovative changes in respect of Institutional systems utilised for teaching and learning.
**FUNCTIONAL ACCOUNTABILITY AND COMPETENCIES REQUIRED**
**Functional Accountability**
**1. Course and Module Design**
- Manage the creation of: SCORM content using Articulate Rise and Storyline; digitized assessments; electronic flipbooks; video content; and H5P.
- Manage new course/module creation in Moodle UAT and collaborate with the Moodle developer to ensure asset migration from UAT to Live.
- Manage the instructional design and alignment of new and revised programmes to curriculums and industry standards.
- Oversee the utilisation and innovative use of various technologies in the development of eLearning content.
- Provide technical leadership to design team in the E-Learning Development department.
- Conduct an on-going review of the product portfolio, based on progress, analysis, available resources, value add and changes in the environment.
- Contribute to Institutional QMS of developed content and iCAN module and course structures.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify student needs through an analysis of student survey feedback.
- Collaborate with Marketing and Student Support Office in the creation of student journey collateral content and marketing material.
**2. Academic Management and Leadership**
- Ensure Instructional Layout Forms are updated regularly, to accommodate newly created iCAN assets.
- Monitor financial resource allocation in Department, to ensure efficient expenditure in line with budgetary requirements.
- Ensure continuous training and development of departmental personnel to increase competence in the use of Institutional technology, and instructional design practices.
- Conduct performance management initiatives that are aligned to Institutional objectives.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure departmental success metrics are achieved.
- Ensure assets are stored per the Institutional Policy related to Intellectual Property.
**3. Research and Community Engagement**
- Collaborate with the Programme Application and Development Manager to ensure the successful expansion of the Higher Education and Short Course suite of offerings.
- Actively participate in workshops, knowledge sharing sessions, meetings, and other Institutional forums.
- Build positive relationships with other internal stakeholders.
- Contribute positively towards the Institutional vision, mission, and goals.
- Assist in the planning and execution of community engagement initiatives.

**ESSENTIAL WORK EXPERIENCE**
- Minimum 5-6 years of experience in learning material development, instructional design, and assessment design using digital formats and tools.
- Previous experience in leading successful change initiatives and projects in education.
- Managing executive and external stakeholder relationships.
- At least one-year experience in a supervisory role.
**QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED**
- Relevant Degree in Education/Social Sciences/Business related discipline, or equivalent qualification.
- Honours qualification in educational technology/education OR
- Post-Graduate qualification in business related disciplines.
**COMPUTER AND DIGITAL LITERACY SKILLS REQUIRED**
- Articulate Rise with a strong focus on developing content for a mobile-first approach.
- Experience in Articulate 360 using Storyline.
- Experience with the Adobe Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat DC).
- H5P with focus on creating interactivity within the Moodle Learning Manage
