**Main purpose of position**
Currently we are looking for a IT Network Infrastructure Advisor in Cape Town, South Africa to be part of our global team working together towards our vision - Improving our future. The IT Network Infrastructure Advisor will design, manage and maintain Scatec’s IT infrastructure and network systems. Will commission network and communication solutions during construction. Manage and Maintain Cisco Meraki network. Implement and manage IP mapping. Provide Global SCADA, Global O&M, Operational Technology (OT), EPC and communication support. Release operational technology (OT) and network support. Community Internet Center support and maintenance. General end-user desktop support.

**Main responsibilities**
- IT Network - Designing and implementing new network solutions and/or improving the efficiency of current networks
- Installing, configuring, and supporting network equipment including routers, proxy servers, switches, WAN accelerators, DNS and DHCP, UPSs, and other hardware.
- Interact and negotiate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure network products and services
- Procuring network equipment and managing subcontractors involved with network installation
- Configuring firewalls, routing and switching to maximise network efficiency and security
- Maximising network performance through ongoing monitoring and troubleshooting
- Arranging scheduled upgrades, security audits and system backups and recovery
- Investigating faults in the network o Updating network equipment to the latest firmware releases
- Reporting network status to key stakeholders
- IT Infrastructure - Manage and monitor the company’s IT infrastructure environment
- Troubleshoot problems associated with infrastructures and systems

**Qualifications and competencies**
- Diploma in IT or related field (Information Technology, Network management, Electrical/electronic engineering)
- Ideal: Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification required, Cisco Certified Network professional (CCNP) preferred Experience
- Minimum of 5 years IT Networking work experience
- Maintain IT infrastructure best practices and follow the necessary security regulations
- Deploy and maintain the Video conferencing solutions
- Recommend infrastructure upgrades for optimal performance to the management
- Communicate with partners and vendors on behalf of the company
- Provide training on IT systems and compliant use of IT equipment (i.e., mobile phones, laptops, conferencing rooms)
- Strong design, modelling, and documentation skills
- Able to conduct research into networking issues and products as required Non-Technical Skills
