**SENIOR EMPLOYMENT EQUITY AND SKILLS DEVELOPMENT CONSULTANT**
In this position you will be responsible for providing insights to clients. To do so, you will first meet with our clients to uncover their business needs and challenges. Then, you will use your strong analytical skills to perform quantitative and observational data analyses. From these analyses, you will form and present your recommendations to our clients.
The consultant’s objective is to assist our clients in the areas of Skills Development and Employment Equity:
In order to achieve this objective, the consultant will need to:
1. Facilitate the Skills Development Process in order to claim mandatory and discretionary grants from our clients’ SETA’s.
2. Facilitate the full Employment Equity Process.
**Skills Development**
**Facilitate client’s skills development process. In order to achieve this objective, you will**:
1. Work through an Annual Strategic Plan questionnaire with the client’s Management.
2. Conduct a Skills Audit to identify employees’ training needs in terms of increasing their current skill levels, meeting legislative requirements and developing certain individuals towards promotion.
3. Advise on the alignment of skills development objectives and practices with strategic objectives in the organisation.
4. Develop an Annual Training Plan for the organisation plan which complies with the relevant SETA’s requirements.
5. Develop and submit the annual Mandatory Grant to the relevant SETA.
6. Facilitate and minute the Skills Development Committee meetings.
7. Track the progress of the training initiatives and regularly give progress reports to Management.
9. Serve as a contact person between the organisation and relevant SETA.
10. Track the payment of grants.
11. Create monthly status reports for the clients
**Employment Equity**
**Assist the organisation in becoming compliant in terms of the Employment Equity Act. In order to achieve this objective, you will**:
1. Facilitate the consultation and communication process with all stakeholders.
2. Establish and train the organisation’s Employment Equity Committee
3. Conduct an Employment Equity audit, which will analyse the clients’ existing policies, procedures, practices and working conditions.
4. Identify any barriers likely to be encountered in implementing the Employment Equity and Affirmative Action plans.
5. Conduct a workplace profile to determine the extent of under-representation of employees from the designated groups in the different occupational levels of the organisation’s workforce.
6. Develop Affirmative Action measures and objectives, timeframes and identification of resources.
7. Develop and communicate the Employment Equity Plan.
8. Create and submit an Employment Equity Report to the Department of Labour.
9. Facilitate and minute the organisation’s quarterly Employment Equity Committee meetings.
10. Create monthly status reports for the clients.
**Deliverables will include**:
1. Development of the organisation’s Training Plan for the year.
2. Submission of the Workplace Skills Plan and Annual Training Report to the relevant SETA.
3. Tracking of the payments of the mandatory grant from the SETA into the organisation’s bank account.
5. Development of the Employment Equity Plan in consultation with management and employee representatives.
6. Implementation and monitoring of the Employment Equity Plan in consultation with management and employee representatives.
7. Submission of the Employment Equity Report to the Department of Labour.
8. Facilitate and minute the Committee meetings.
9. Monthly year-to-date status reports on Employment Equity, Skills Development and Training Co-ordination.
10. Regularly liaise with client stakeholders

2. Strong skills in Employment Equity and Skills Development Facilitation
3. Must be a registered Skills Development Facilitator
4. Must be excellent at written English
- the consultant will need to write the EEA12 & EEA13 reports and respond to the DoEL on our client’s behalf in the event of a EE audit. As such they need to be very strong in writing skills and pedantic in terms of grammar, spelling etc.
5. The consultants will train EE Committee and facilitate meetings so they will need to have good presentation and communication skills
