The Faircape Group is looking for a **Junior** **ISP Cabling Technician** to install and maintain a copper CAT6 and fibre network in and around Cape Town to enable the ISP to provide fast stable connectivity. Will also assist with the installation of wireless equipment.

**Duties will include but are not limited to the following**:

- Hauling of CAT 5/6, fibre cables
- Crimping of cables
- Wiring up of equipment
- Assisting with Wireless backhaul equipment installs and alignment
- Providing general assistance to the Technician

**Qualifications**
- Matric
- Electrical qualification advantageous
- FTTH training and certifications advantageous

**Experience and knowledge**
- Node room inspections - conduct daily, weekly and monthly node inspections
- Provide documentation of all information of cabling, routers, switches
- Improves upon existing installations and infrastructure
- Labeling of network equipment including routers, switches, cabinets
- Previous experience in data cabling and termination (CAT5/CAT6 crimping)
- Experience installing CAT5, CAT6, fibre, Co-AX cables.
- Crimping of CAT5 and CAT6 cables using industry standards
- Best practices for patch management, server room and Node room maintenance and upkeep.
- Proficient in fault finding using OTDR, CAT5/6 testers and fibre laser fault finders.
- Experience using Ge-Bex and BiDi fibre modules
- Installing and alignment of wireless dishes
- Last mile installations - performs cable installations, including new commercial CAT5 / CAT6 cabling
- Troubleshoot cabling a layer 1 networks
- Installation of VOIP phones

- Drivers licence, own vehicle would be advantageous

- Ability to work under high pressure situations and unsupervised

**Working hours**
- Monday to Friday from 08h00 to 17h00. Due to the nature of the position, you will be required to be on call on a rotational basis

**Specific requirements**:

- Must have a valid drivers license
- No criminal record
- Contactable references
- Vaccinated against covid-19 or prepared to be vaccinated prior to commencing job
