Junior Safety Administrator

1. Workplace Inspections and Enforcement of the rules
a) To ensure that the work area is safe for work.
b) To conduct regular inspections and holding employee drills for applicable rules or training provided.
c) To ensure that all fire extinguishers are serviced and working properly.
d) To ensure that stairwells have handrails and steps are safe to walk on.
e) To ensure that hazardous materials are not stored improperly.
2. Administration
a) Filing of all safety related records
b) Assisting in the management of communications and paperwork
c) To assist the Manager in making improvements and implement required changes.
d) To take measurements and collect workplace data either for routine inspection or as directed by a manager.
e) Ability to respond to changing pattern of work demand which can be unpredictable and unplanned, requiring constant shifts in priority.
f) To coordinate audits and inspections.
g) Complete documents for safety incidences and share with the relevant manager.
h) To maintain accurate work records/documentation.
i) To ensure that all accidents are logged with RMA for claim numbers.
3. Occupational Health and Safety
a) To ensure that all employees comply with all workplace health and safety.
b) To ensure that all injury on duty is reported within 24hours regardless of the nature of the injury.
c) Collaborates with other departments (e.g. Admin, Operations, etc.) to direct compliance issues to appropriate existing channels for investigation and resolution.
d) Responds to alleged violations in collaboration with SHEQ division regarding rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and standards of employee’s conduct by evaluating or recommending the initiation of investigative procedures.
Promote safety throughout the factory and ensure adhere to the company's SHEQ procedure, policy, and guidelines.
4. Incident reporting and investigations
a) To investigate accidents and interview those involved
b) To be the first contact persons during emergencies, such as an injury, fire, etcat the workplace.
c) To ensure that the affected employee received proper medical attention including first aid.
d)To ensure that the workstation is always kept tidy before and after the commencement of each shift.
**Job Type**: Part-time
**Salary**: R5 000,00 - R6 000,00 per month
Expected hours: 45 per week
