**THE JOB**:
In this role you will be responsible for the implementation of projects that develop the agricultural economy in African countries. Some interesting projects include value chain studies, identifying workable business models that create employment, supporting businesses in developing business plans and professional skills, trade facilitation, entrepreneur coaching and related capacity development.
- Project implementation: You will oversee a variety of projects such as value chain analysis, business case development, sector strategy development, value chain benchmarking, etc.
- Project Management: You will work with cross functional teams in South Africa and abroad, with partner associations and technical experts to deliver varied agri-business projects,.
- Enterprise development and capacity building: Assess and develop business cases
- market research, business modelling, business plans, coaching of entrepreneurs, sector roundtables, etc.
- Access to finance support: You will use your technical skills to provide insights leading to access to finance. This includes carrying out mini-feasibility studies, business modelling and lobbying finance institutions in

working sessions.
- Studies: You will be responsible for market studies, cost of production studies, economic feasibility studies and benchmarking studies, and presenting the results in round tables, workshops etc.
- Training; developing training modules for farmers, processors, donors, entrepreneurs etc.
- Global linkages: Engage with the private sector and other stakeholders in importing countries to conduct market research, lead investment promotion and sourcing missions, roundtables, etc.

What You Bring
- A Master’s degree in Agricultural Economics or a comparable study
- A strong sense of agri-business and how to use technical knowledge to enrich practical research & implementation projects
- A hands-on approach & a love of getting things done on time, in full
- Demonstrated capability in project management
- Good Emotional Intelligence
- Min 10 years of relevant work experience
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
- Good numeracy
- French Speaking is a valued addition
