The School of Built Environment and Development Studies seeks to appoint a Senior

Lecturer to teach, supervise, and provide academic coordination within the discipline

postgraduate programme in Development Studies; contribute to the academic and

management functions within the discipline and school;conduct and publish

research; as well as undertake community engagement with partners in South Africa

and abroad.

**Minimum requirements: Senior Lecturer**
- Masters / PhD** **in Development Studies or related field.
- Three (3) years working experience in either Teaching, Lecturing, Research or

Industry in the relevant field or discipline** **.
- Evidence of **successful post-graduate supervision** at Honours / Masters level
- A nationally recognised **academic **with a **teaching and research profile **of

note, having led and/or co-led research projects as Principal Investigator (PI)

or Co-PI.
- Evidence of **community engagement**
- A current record of appropriate research as evidenced by **publications **in

accredited journals, books, and peer reviewed conference proceedings.
- Evidence of effective research in **quantitative research methods**
- Evidence of national recognition as a **research leader **and **specialist **in one of

the following areas of development studies praxis:

- Quantitative research methods
- Development Economics
- Macro-Economics
- Political Economy
