Registry Clerk: People Management Records, Ref No

**Job Purpose**:
The Department of the Premier, Western Cape Government has an opportunity for a competent individual to render a registry service to the Chief Directorate: People Management Practices. This post is based in Cape Town, CBD.
**Minimum Requirements**: Grade 12 (Senior Certificate or equivalent qualification).
**Recommendation**: Registry environment experience; Ability to do physically demanding work within a registry environment.
**Key Performance Areas**: Responsible for the safe-keeping of all official documents, and the proper filing of records which includes the classification, neat and correct placing of material in files; Issue and receive files (individual file requests and bulk file requests) using a document tracking system, to clients as requested; Responsible for file transfers into and out of the Corporate Services Centre; Process documents for archiving and disposal; Provide a Registry counter service; Assist with the document control function; The receipt, opening and sorting of post; Dispatch of outgoing post; Provide general support services to the registry; Scanning of documents into electronic system.
**Competencies**:
Knowledge of the following: Relevant legislation and regulations relating to registry functions; The storage and retrieval procedures in terms of the Registry working environment; Registry duties and practices; Record-keeping procedures; Communication (written and verbal) skills; Proven computer literacy skills in MS Office; Excellent customer service skills; Must be able to meet the physical demands of the job.
**Remuneration**:
R 181 599 per annum (Salary Level 5)
