Role Purpose

Provide best practice and thought leadership for Employment Equity whilst driving, monitoring, influencing and improving on the B-BBEE scorecard and ensuring the accurate compilation and packaging of reports in line with MMH's strategic objectives.
Requirements
- Degree in Human Resources, Labour Law or Commerce
- 5-7 years' experience, in an EE Consultant or Management role within the Financial Services industry
- Knowledge of the socio -economic context within South Africa (preferred)
- Knowledge of relevant legislation e.g. Employment Equity Act, Codes of Good Practice, Financial Sector Code, Labour Relations Act, etc
Duties & Responsibilities
- Keep abreast of trends, legislation and best practices within the Employment Equity (EE) field.
- Provide best practice guidance and guidelines for EE.
- Develop EE strategies, policies and practices for MMH that support the business to achieve its EE targets and strategic objectives.
- Develop disability policies and initiatives that create awareness and sensitivity to disability in the workplace.
- Develop diversity policies and initiatives that enable MMH to build an inclusive working environment.
- Provide advisory support to stakeholders regarding best practice EE solutions to best meet business requirements.
- Champion the achievement of the MMH EE strategy and influence key stakeholders to implement initiatives that focus on achieving EE targets.
- Oversee the creation and maintenance of EE forums for MMH and divisions and ensure that it complies with legislative requirements and MMH standards.
- Participate in and coordinate the logistics of MMH EE forum and provide thought leadership and advice regarding EE forum related issues.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of all EE forums and make recommendations to improve compliance and effectiveness.
- Effectively identify and drive the implementation of initiatives and projects across the group to support the achievement of EE targets for MMH.
- Provide advice and guidance regarding EE target setting for the divisions in line with MMH EE targets.
- Oversee the development, implementation and achievement of the MMH EE plan and provide recommendations for improvement or risk mitigation.
- Monitor and track the achievement of EE plan and proactively make recommendations to ensure targets are achieved.
- Advocate EE within the business and coach and guide the HR team, business stakeholders and EE forum to comply with the EE Act and related processes.
- Proactively manage strategic relationships in a way that they enhance the integration of EE practices across the group.
- Build, manage and maintain relationships with members of associations such as Department of Labour and EE champions.
- Support the collation of valid, accurate and complete data or evidence during the B-BBEE verification process.
- Collate and analyse information to populate the MMH EE reports and submit the report within agreed timeframes.
- Continuously improve the quality, accuracy, integrity and value of the data by giving input into the optimising of data structures and possible integration of data from a variety of diverse systems that exist within the business.
- Contribute to MMH's BBBEE scorecard reporting by measuring and reporting on BBBEE initiatives for the division in line with Group reporting.
- Contribute to and utilise a common framework for reporting BBBEE initiatives that facilitates consistency and efficiencies.
- Continuously monitor, drive and ensure compliance with the MMH EE strategy and principles.
- Identify and highlight EE risks with relevant stakeholders and identify risk mitigation strategies.
- Analyse metrics to assess the effectiveness of the EE practices and identify areas of opportunity and make recommendations for enhancement.
- Compile accurate EE reports that clearly highlight the relevant analysis, insight and trends.
- Draft EE communications and memos that effectively address EE related issues.
- Drive the enhancement or automation of EE practices and processes.
