Duties &Responsibilities

**SCOPE AND GENERAL PURPOSE**

**RESPONSIBLE/REPORT TO**
- Operations Manager

**LIASES WITH**
- Guests
- Agents
- Companies/Government
- All departments

**RESPONSIBLE FOR**
- Promoting and marketing the hotel as a premium event location
- Smooth planning and running of all functions/events

**MAIN DUTIES**:
**Promoting Isango as a Premium Function Destination**
- Represent Isango, “be the face of Isango,” at marketing events or corporate customers to promote functions
- Advertise and market Isango as a premium function/event destination
- Arrange events that will assist in Isango to be become better known as an event venue with targeted costumers
- Attend suitable local fairs and events to market Isango
- Liaise with reservations regarding upcoming bookings

**Managing all Functions/Events for a 5-star customer experience**
- Planning these from start to finish according to requirements, target audience and objectives
- Coming up with suggestions to enhance the events success
- Respond to all function/conference/event enquiries
- Prepare quotations and do follow ups
- Approve all aspects before the day of the event
- Prepare budgets and ensure adherence
- Build and manage a database. Specials, newsletters etc to be sent out to guests in conjunction with the Operations Manager
- Liaise and meet with the group agent/ guest/ co-Ordinator
- Source, Liaise and negotiate with vendors and suppliers to ensure group specs are met
- Coordinate all operations for events and planning
- Supervise all staff (Event co-ordinators, caterers, suppliers, staff allocated to event)
- Ensure program are distributed to staff and followed to ensure the clients stratification
- Ensure these events is completed smoothly and step up to resolve any problems that might occur
- Analyse the event’s success and prepare reports
- Trains, supervises and works with event/beverage staff

**REQUIREMENTS**
- ** Grade 12**:

- ** Hospitality Diploma preferred**:

- **2 years’ experience in Events planning/Hospitality banqueting/related experience**:

- **Excellent customer service skills and the ability to work with diverse individuals. Consistently achieve high work standards, attention to detail, accuracy and timelines**:

- **Strong understanding of social media platforms (e.g., LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, Facebook) and other digital platforms, including best practices and trends.**:

- ** Previous marketing experience, social media, sales and cold calling advantageous**:

- **Friendly, positive, flexible, and adaptable team player**:

- ** Ability to demonstrate initiative and have a creative approach to problem-solving.**:

- ** Ability to interpret data, draw insights and compile comprehensive reports**:

- **Excellent written and verbal communication skills**:

- ** Flexible availability to work weekends, evenings and public holidays, as required
