- To coordinate, plan, manage and oversee the pre-cast operation in line with customer requirements, whilst maintaining safety standards, efficient operation and timeous reporting and investigation of deviations.
- Providing technical advice and guidance on pre-cast manufacturing for improved performance, product problem solving, as well as determination and optimization of product costings.

- Ensure on time manufacturing of products in line with customer requirements whilst maintaining HSE standards.
- Optimization and improvement of manufacturing practices through technical leadership and problem solving.
- Determination and optimization of product costings.

**Responsibilities**

**Position Responsibilities**:

- Serve as the technical expert and resource on pre-cast manufacturing.
- Oversee the work of operators, providing guidance and mentorship as needed.
- Ensure that all work is carried out in compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
- Prepare project proposals, feasibility studies, and reports for management review.
- Develop and implement quality control procedures.
- Coordinate with other departments and personnel to ensure smooth production manufacturing execution and on time delivery.
- Monitor production progress and timelines, making adjustments as necessary to keep deliveries on track.
- Investigate and troubleshoot technical problems, quality problems and deviations.
- Keep abreast of new technologies and developments in the field.
- Assist in the training of new staff.
- Perform regular performance reviews of subordinates.
- Manage departmental budgets.

**Key Accountability**:

- Maintain safe and clean work environment by educating and directing employees on the use of all tools, equipment, and resources; ensure compliance with established policies, procedures, and established improvement programs.
- Process and production improvements through detailed analysis and best practice recommendations.
- Accurate and up to date manufacturing standard and costing of all products manufactured in plant.
- Ensure technical compliance, improvement and optimization of manufacturing practice in accordance with required standards, under varying operating conditions.
- To co-ordinate activities to ensure that the customer receives the correct product, conforming to specified quality on time.
- Ensure effective use of all plant resources, including Raw Material control (Variance), Employee attendance and Process optimization.
- Solve all Product and Process problems through employee coordination and PPS projects.
- Daily, weekly, and monthly production and quality data captured accurately.
- To ensure regular update of production procedures, SWI’s and production plans.**Inherent Requirements**

**Qualifications**
- B-Tech / B Eng. Metallurgical Engineering or Ceramics Engineering

**Experience**
- 3 years related working experience within a Metallurgical, Refractory or Ceramics manufacturing domain.
- Experience in problem solving, quality control advantageous.

**Requirements / Skills / Characteristics**
- Computer literacy (i.e., MS Office, Excel Advanced)
- Syspro experience essential
- Excellent planning skills and organizational skills.
- Problem - Solving Abilities (8D PPS).
- Excellent Presentation and Communication Skills, both written and spoken
- Systemic Thinking Abilities
- Available to work on standby and address problems after hours.
- Relevant technical knowledge
- Ability to manage suppliers and contractors effectively.
- Must be hands-on.
