**DEPUTY GENERAL MANAGER: R35-R40k**
**Cedar Wood Recruitment is now recruiting for a Deputy General Manager at a prestigious hotel in the Drakensberg, KZN. The hotel and resort offers luxurious hotel and self-catering accommodation and is one of the top rated establishments on TripAdvisor. This is a full-time position for a seasoned professional with a passionate, hands-on approach combined with a proven track record in similar positions in the industry.**
**Requirements: Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge, Experience**
- Matric certificate
- A diploma or degree of at least 3 years from a recognised hotel/hospitality/ management institution
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in the capacity of GM or deputy GM
- MICROS knowledge/background essential
- Driver’s license essential
**Key Performance Areas**
- Custodian of all health and safety requirements pertaining to the hotel ensuring compliance to health and safety best practice through quarterly inspections and recommendations
- Responsible for all labour related matters ensuring compliance with the LRA: Good understanding and exposure should be demonstrated
- Security: Liaise with our outsourced security company together with our security consultant to ensure that all matters related to safety and security of staff, guests and assets are maintained and monitored
- Responsible for overseeing the food and beverage department, delegating to the Executive Chef, F&B controller, and F&B manager
- Assist in setup of special events, co-ordination and execution with the relevant departments involved
- Oversee the hotel in the absence of the GM, being hands on with guests and staff to ensure that management is seen and involved in the guest experience
- Responsible for the insurance of the vehicles and other machinery of the hotel
- Liaise with the GM over any SLA’s that are required for vendors and services that the hotel utilises
- Responsible for low level legal requirements pertaining to the licensing requirements of a hotel and subsequent outlets
- Responsible for the assurance of our firefighting team and equipment when called upon, together with maintenance and estates managers, respectively.
- Oversee annual fire break operations with respective stakeholders

- Must be used to/or comfortable living for extended periods of time in the Drakensberg environment
- Basic knowledge in maintenance and estates management advantageous

**Remuneration, Working Hours**
- Salary range R35,000 - R40,000 gross (depending on experience)
- Medical aid contribution by employer at 50% for individual only
- Accommodation: Two-bedroom unfurnished house opposite the hotel
- 7,5% provident fund contributions by employer and employee
- Share of all staff tips
- 6 days off per month
- 21 days annual leave after successful completion of 12 months’ service
