Muslim Hands operates in over 40 countries worldwide, distributing life-saving humanitarian aid and relief to millions of people around the world, who are affected by natural disasters, war, poverty, famine, and drought.

**THE ROLE**

**Responsibilities**:
**Community Fundraising**
- To develop and deliver the community fundraising strategy in line with the Organisation’s strategy.
- To research and identify appropriate mosques, schools, community organizations, and other Islamic institutions that will support Muslim Hands South Africa work.
- Achieve agreed fundraising targets.
- Establishing relationships with a large portfolio of Mosques in South Africa and establish throughout the year, regular key during Ramadan, Qurbani, and other holy periods for communication of outreach activities, fundraising and recruit volunteers.
- To promote fundraising campaigns and events through social media, leaflets, and poster distribution.
- To attend events related to mosques and Islamic institutions for networking purposes.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising plan that includes individual donations, grants, and corporate sponsorships, while adhering to Islamic principles and values
- Identify and cultivate relationships with potential donors and sponsors, including individuals, corporations, and foundations.
- Organize and oversee fundraising events, campaigns, and initiatives.
- Manage and supervise the fundraising team, providing guidance, training, and support as needed.
- Collaborate with the finance team to ensure accurate financial tracking and reporting of all fundraising activities.
- Ensure that all fundraising activities comply with relevant regulations and ethical standards.
- Stay up to date with trends and best practices in fundraising, and continually seek ways to improve our fundraising efforts.
- Represent the organization at community events and networking opportunities.
- Work closely with other departments ensuring that donor expectations are met timeously.

**Major Giving**
- Develop and deliver a Major Giving strategy in line with the organization’s strategy.
- To work towards an agreed annual fundraising target and support the management of the budget.
- To manage a portfolio of major donors and individual prospects.
- To identify key cultivation opportunities for major donors and prospects throughout the year and ensure they are included in the overall strategy.
- To work with the team to develop and achieve team objectives and plans, including forming an effective working relationship with the relevant stakeholders.
- Coordinate with the Programme department to provide donor feedback.
- Work with Comms team to produce marketing materials as required.
- To manage and support all general MH Fundraising activities.
- To undertake any reasonable responsibilities as required by the line manager.

**Cooperate Social Responsibility (CSR)**
- To develop and deliver a CSR strategy that is aligned with the organization’s strategy.
- Act as a key contact internally and externally for all CSR activity.
- Launch, manage, and evaluate key CSR initiatives working closely with relevant partners.
- Work with colleagues to devise a communications program to increase employee engagement and volunteering.
- Provide information and prepare relevant paragraphs for inclusion in business pitches and marketing materials.

**PERSON SPECIFICATION**

**Essential**
- Educated to degree level.
- Experienced either in the charity sector or a customer service role; especially in a ‘Fundraising Department'.
- An excellent communicator and possesses exceptional interpersonal skills.
- Able to demonstrate a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Able to multitask under pressure.
- Passionate about charity work
- Must be able to show fundraising success in his career.
- Be able to demonstrate eligibility to work in South Africa.
- Be comfortable working to tight deadlines.
