The Internal Communications Specialist will be responsible for formulating and implementing of DBSA-wide internal communication strategies in line with organisational priorities.


**Key Responsibilities**:
In consultation with the Head: Communications, Marketing & Events (CME), the Internal Communications Specialist will be accountable for the following:
? Formulate and implement the Internal Communications Strategy, Plan & Calendar for the DBSA inclusive of the CSI Employee Volunteer Programme and input from all Divisions of the DBSA.
? Coordinate, write, edit, collaborate and liaise with internal stakeholders in terms of disseminating clear and concise content that keeps DBSA employees informed, inspired, educated and engaged.
? Develop guidelines and processes to effectively manage, support and prioritise various internal communication requirements from various stakeholders, e.g., projects, emergencies, expectations and deadlines.
? Accountable for overseeing the development and production of all internal communications and materials to ensure alignment / adherence with DBSA’s branding, style guidelines and corporate identity, amongst others, the Intranet, DBSA Brief, Announcements, Webcasts, Podcasts, Presentations and Weekly Wraps.
? Oversee and manage the development, improvement and maintenance of the DBSA Intranet, the information architecture, visual design, navigation and content.
? Manage technology driven and non-technology driven communications channels including intranet, internal social media, electronic newsletters, videos, video net, webinars, print, face to face etc.
? Work with the entire CME team in particular with the CSI Programme Manager, Events Specialist and Web Administrator.
? Accountable for leading internal crisis communication when a crisis or critical issues arise. Guide divisions/stakeholders to effectively communicate without having any negative impact on the brand and DBSA’s reputation.
? Develop appropriate metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of existing and new communications channels and platforms.
? Provide inputs into various reports for committees and stakeholders.
? Accountable for the supervision of the graduate intern.
? Any other communications and marketing assignments / projects as assigned.
Change Management Communication for Projects/Programmes/Initiatives
? In liaison with sponsors and leads, develop change management communications including content, presentations, videos, etc. for the various bank-wide Projects/Programmes/Initiatives.
? Ensure that the content and messaging for change management projects and initiatives are effective and aligned to CME’s messaging framework
Key Measurements
? Approved Internal Communications Strategy, Plan & Calendar
? Quality of communications content and materials (Clear and concise messaging)
? Feedback from internal stakeholders
? Appropriate selection of communications mediums and platforms
? Intranet and other internal communications platforms updated promptly

**Expertise & Technical Competencies**:
Minimum Requirements
1. Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Brand Management, Social Science or Humanities.
2. Minimum of 5 to 7 years’ experience in Corporate Communications, Internal Communications and/or, Change Communications experience, ideally in large organisations and preferably in financial services, professional services, or consulting
3. Worked as a senior internal communications role in a mid-sized to large organisation of +500 employees.
4. Demonstrated experience in developing and executing internal communications strategies for organisational priorities and change programmes.
5. Proven creative and design capabilities, with experience in creating engaging themes, campaigns, written copy, visuals, and multimedia communications for internal audiences.
6. Demonstrated ability to write content, edit content and put together presentations clearly, concisely and effectively for the various internal audiences.
7. Proven experience in providing strategic advice on internal communications planning and execution for key stakeholders.
8. Change communications experience, for example in support of organisational, process or technology changes
9. Project management skills with the ability to create and manage a communications schedule, prioritise work, manage multiple projects and deliver to deadlines
10. Demonstrated skills and knowledge in leveraging and innovating both digital and traditional internal channels to create impactful communications that drive awareness and engagement and internal social networks
11. Proven ability to use metrics, analytics, and insights to refine communications approaches across multiple channels.
12. Demonstrated ability to keep on top of new trends and technology which impacts internal engagement or change communications in particular digital channels
