We are seeking a highly skilled Internal Communications Specialist to join our team at Dis-Chem Pharmacies in Midrand. This role involves creating and implementing internal employee communication content and forums that foster engagement, alignment, and culture shaping based on the organisation's values.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop well-researched, clear, and consistent business communications for various topics including company announcements, meeting presentations, multimedia, key messages, and talking points.
  • Plan, edit, and write content for internal communications mediums such as the intranet, magazine, HR social media, or regular email bulletin.
  • Review and edit communications drafted by internal stakeholders and make recommendations to ensure messaging aligns with internal strategy and tone.
  • Compile internal company newsletters for distribution and run internal specific communication campaigns.
People Incorporation

The successful candidate will generate awareness of relevant Health Days, religious holidays/observance days, and assist with Recruitment Departments careers website, Facebook, and LinkedIn presence. They will also communicate and coordinate internal events for communication purposes, work closely with departments to develop an effective intranet, and engage employees within the organisation.

Knowledge and Relationship Building
  • The ideal candidate will build strong working relationships with stakeholders across the business and help create a culture where two-way internal communication is fundamental and integral to success.
  • They will oversee and maintain the Dis-Chem Internal Communications email address and social media communications.
  • Gaining thorough knowledge of the business strategy, understanding each department, and participating in special projects is essential.
Research, Analysis, and Reporting

The successful candidate will provide ongoing creative ideas to ensure company messaging is forward-looking and innovative. They will seek out and analyse employee feedback mechanisms, interpret data to recommend best practices, and continually evaluate the success of internal communications.

Requirements
  • A Degree or Diploma in Communication, Public Relations, or Journalism or any related field.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of relevant experience.
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to work under pressure, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • A South African citizen with a valid driver's license and reliable transport.
Estimated Salary: R300,000 - R350,000 per annum

This salary estimate is based on industry standards and is inclusive of market-related remuneration, benefits, and allowances.
