**What is Project Hannah?**
- Project Hannah is a Founders Factory Africa Insurtech venture on a mission to provide gig workers with benefits and micro-insurance products. We know that the future of work is flexible work - from self-employed contractors to gig workers - and Hannah is providing them with financial products designed for their unique circumstances. At heart, the vision is to build a digital ecosystem for gig worker benefits and insurance products.
- Hannah is supported by seasoned advisors with deep experience in startup, product and tech development.

**The Role**
- The Co-Founder will contribute significantly to Hannah's growth and long-term success by formulating and executing the tactical strategy around our insurance operations. In this role, you will personally lead the revolution for how gig workers access a wider range of financial security products with an insurtech marketplace ecosystem. Additionally, As a co-founder, you will navigate market validation, product development, commercialisation, and team formation. Upon completion of the Build Program, you will transition into a Founding CEO role and continue to direct the growth and development of the business as it continues to scale.

**The Deal**:

- Project Hannah is backed by the full might of Founders Factory Africa's internal teams. You will also benefit from a host of 'unfair advantages in the market engineered by our Investment and Partnerships teams with concrete support from our partners at Standard Bank. This role offers the dual benefit of operational autonomy and relevant, tangible startup support.

**You receive**:

- $50,000 to get the initial product into the market
- A majority founding equity stake in the business
- Collaboration and support from FFA's team across product design and development, growth and marketing, strategic partnerships, talent, and investment.
- Up to $200,000 in follow-on investment post-program

Preferred location: Johannesburg, South Africa

**Responsibilities**:

- Oversee the successful build and market launch of Project Hannah
- Partner with the team and business partners to achieve the development of benefits and insurance products for gig workers
- Hire a founding team that can help you execute on the vision
- Develop a plan for scale that includes market expansion, product evolution, and organizational growth.
- Collaborate in designing the foundational business processes
- Oversee initiatives for performance and process improvement across insurance operations
- Collaborate in the creation and development of fundraising plan for commercial expansion
- Define a culture of excellence that will scale with the company
- Set a clear vision for the business, including both commercial and product direction

**Requirements**:

- Strong track record of developing and implementing solutions in insurance, employee benefits or other related fields
- Demonstrated experience bringing products to market, either at a startup venture or in an agency capacity
- Demonstrated commercial success in building/growing a company or expanding a product’s reach and impact.
- Ability to understand what consumers want and to reconcile this with commercial imperatives
- Experience designing and improving workflows and technical procedures
- Motivated by the opportunity to innovate and change how things have "always been done"
- Excellent communication and writing skills; comfortable interacting with agency and carrier stakeholders
- Strong analytical decision-making and organisational skills
- Experience in building and managing a team and driving it towards successful outcomes
- Ability to rally others around a shared vision
- Grounded by the need to deliver value to customers
- Commitment to being a lifelong learner and a hunger for continuous improvement
