Lifestyle Coordinator/companion

Livewell Estates is a specialised memory care facility that provides dementia, Alzheimer’s, and frail care services in Somerset West and Bryanston, South Africa. We offer an all-inclusive package that includes expert healthcare, personalised care and medication management, nutritious meals, and luxurious surroundings. Residents can benefit from our 24/7 nursing care, occupational therapy, ongoing care plans, stimulating activities program, unlimited housekeeping and laundry services, and access to communal gardens, dining and living areas.

This is a full-time lifestyle coordinator/companion role which will initially start as a 3 month contract. This role is based in Somerset West, Western Cape. You will work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to provide holistic care to our residents.

Your job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Attending to residents/elderly individuals who require emotional support and have behavioral issues.
- Ensuring a therapeutic environment in that you encourage an environment that is supportive of each individual and recognizes the triggers for people living with dementia.
- Ensuring the smooth running of the activity program.
- Present activities.
- Liaising with the multi-disciplinary team on various therapies.
- Assisting with the residents grooming on daily basis.
- Ensuring that residents birthday parties are arranged and be host or hostess at the party being mindful of the allocated budget.
- Planning and participating in any inhouse events.
- Ensure new residents are provided all the necessary requirements before their move in date.

Qualifications and Experience
- Secondary education level: Matric Certificate
- Post degree studies and courses are advantages
- Language (read and write) English and Afrikaans
- At least 3 years experience in healthcare
- At least 1 year experience in working with individuals with dementia
- Own transport and valid drivers license
- Clean criminal and credit record
