This purpose of the job is definition, implementation, and management of configurations to meet business requirements. The position requires understanding business requirements, process flows, as well as the alignment of internal system in order to conduct extensive configuration on ‘cloud based platforms’.

The Configuration Specialist works alongside a Functional Lead and other Configurators, ensuring optimal operation of the overall functional area through complex testing, business process design, process implementation, analysis and maintenance in the light of best practice recommendations and creating reports based business requirements.

**Job Description**:
Configuration & Requirements Gathering
- Ensures requirements are understood, developed, tested, and delivered to specification.
- Troubleshoot and resolve configuration issues, error identification and remediation.
- Determine and implement integration method(s) used, integration directionality and attributes.
- Ensure up to date features, deployments, and initiatives for optimal platform usage.

Design & Documentation
- Create functional and technical systems documentation.
- Participate in process design workshops.
- Template Creation and Updates.
- Configure Catalog Items and Record Producers. Ongoing input and recommendations for continuous

improvement and evaluation of system functionality
- Maintain the stability and useability of the platform across production and non-production environments
- Platform upgrade execution.

Testing Activities
- Coordinate test activities, including unit testing, system testing and user acceptance testing.

Release Management
- Plan ahead and deploy bi-annual feature releases.
- Play a key role in design to implementation of feature releases and change requests.
- Works with the Functional Lead to develop release estimates.

Reporting
- Create advanced reports and dashboards.

Mentoring & Training
- Train and mentor developers.
- Provide technical assistance to Tier 1 teams, managing severity issues and setting prioritization for

resolution.

Learning and Growth
- Interact proactively with others for the purpose of continuous knowledge sharing and integration of own

new knowledge.
- Provide expertise, participate, and contribute to a culture of work centric thinking, productivity, service

delivery and quality management.
- Support and contribute to the successful implementation of change initiatives.

Education

Relevant degree (NQF level 7) or similar qualification.

Experience
- 2+ years relevant experience/exposure to Workday functional areas (e.g.

Compensation, Benefits, Absence, Performance & Talent, Recruitment, Learning etc)

and/or HR digital platforms/SAAS solutions.
- Relevant experience using reporting technologies is advantageous.
- Understanding object orientated landscape is advantageous.
- Banking and Financial Services experience is advantageous.
