**Key Responsibilities**

**Gallery Operations & Sales**
- Maintain an engaging, **well-curated gallery space**, ensuring the optimal display and rotation of top artists' works.
- Ensure **all areas of the gallery remain neat, presentable, and welcoming** to visitors.
- Supervise, **train, and motivate staff**, ensuring strong sales performance and operational efficiency.
- Attend and contribute to **weekly sales and operations meetings**.
- Maintain **effective communication with senior management and artists** to ensure an optimal stock supply and presentation.
- Stay updated on **art trends, artist developments, and industry movements**, providing structured reports to management and artists.
- Provide **exceptional client service**, creating an inviting and seamless sales journey.
- Develop strategies to **maximize foot traffic** and **engage with diverse clientele**.
- Drive sales by **prioritizing service and value** before discounts, ensuring high conversion rates within set parameters.
- Maintain detailed **client records, preferences, and interests** for future engagement and relationship-building.
- Assist with **invoicing, reconciling sales, and preparing commission reports** for payroll.
- Occasionally travel to **Franschhoek and other locations** for exhibitions, events, and artist collaborations.

**Marketing & Social Media Management**
- Oversee **all social media channels (Instagram, Facebook, etc.)**, ensuring consistent and engaging content.
- **Content Strategy**: Create **10-12 high-quality posts/reels per month** and maintain an active presence with **at least 2 stories per day, 5 days a week**.
- Have a **strong understanding of digital marketing trends**, exploring innovative ways to expand the gallery’s reach.
- Develop and **manage Meta advertising** campaigns to enhance visibility and engagement.
- Utilize **graphic design skills** to create marketing materials, including a weekly newsletter for Cape Town gallery, events and the company as a whole, promotional content for general exhibitions, group shows, and solo exhibitions.
- Maintain and update the **gallery website** with relevant content and design enhancements.
- **Expand and manage client and publication contact lists** to ensure effective outreach.
- Strategize and **organize exhibitions and marketing initiatives**, working independently or in collaboration with senior management.

**Requirements**:

- **Minimum 5 years of retail and or sales experience**, preferably in an art or luxury sales environment.
- Proven ability to work **weekends (Saturdays and Sundays)** as part of a flexible schedule and working in a team. To analysis the busiest optimum time for sales and ensure efficient and cohesive systems in place to maximise on sales, and customer service to cultivate relationships with clients who will be become friend and return collectors.
- **Strong sales skills**, with a natural ability to engage and build relationships with high-net-worth clientele.
- **Experience managing staff**, including scheduling, training, and performance oversight.
- **Proficiency in graphic design software** (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Canva, or similar).
- **Experience managing social media accounts** professionally, with knowledge of digital marketing strategies.
- **Familiarity with website management and design** is a plus.
- **Valid driver’s license and own transport** preferred.
- Ability to travel **to the Winelands and other locations** occasionally for exhibitions and gallery events.
- **Highly self-motivated, adaptable, and an excellent team player**.
- Passion for **art, curation, and retail**, with the ability to thrive in both high-traffic and low-season periods.
