HOD - Finance - PTA North

Purpose

To provide leadership and strategic direction to the Finance Department in respect of financial planning, reporting, systems, policies, procedures, effective allocation of resources and ensure compliance to relevant legislation, governance and best practice.

Main Responsibilities (not limited to):

- Provide leadership and strategic direction to the Finance Department, direct the day to day operations of the department in accordance with Company policies and procedures.
- Develop and maintain appropriate financial and internal control systems for the Company, ensuring alignment of financial processes and systems with industry best practice.
- Compile, submit and manage the budget and forecasts in support of the strategic objectives of the Company.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and Company policies and procedures.
- Use key performance metrics to drive quality standards and continuous improvement within the department.
- Provide expert advice to EXCO on financial matters.
- Implement and maintain an operational risk and compliance management strategy for the Finance Department in accordance with the company risk management framework.
- Ensure ISO certification is maintained through documentation, registration and maintenance of departmental policies, procedures and processes, and compliance thereto.
- Maintain a high level of credibility and ensure strong working relationship with various stakeholders on finance matters.
- Manage the performance, development of staff direct reports, drive a high-performance culture to build a competent, engaged and multi-skilled workforce.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

- B Com (Hons) in Accountancy
- Registration as a Chartered Accountant CA (SA)
- 10 - 12 years’ experience in Finance with at least 5 years in a management role
- Relevant experience in manufacturing accounting will be added advantage
