MAINTENANCE COORDINATOR

RESPONSIBILITIES:
To coordinate Security Systems maintenance, manage the workshop and supervise teams. To ensure that work orders are executed on time and quality in the workshop while ensuring compliance with all statutory regulations. Monitoring and reviewing maintenance execution and objectives and implementing corrective action where necessary.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

- Relevant Bachelors/BTech degree OR
- National Diploma in the relevant engineering discipline
- A valid driver’s license
- Advanced knowledge in installation, maintenance and support of the following systems:

- Access control
- CCTV
- Intruder alarm
- 3 years’ experience (with a Degree and relevant Security Systems’ certificates)
- 5 years’ experience (with a Diploma and relevant Security Systems’ certification)
- 2 Years’ experience in Security Systems supervision or managerial experience

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES (SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND BEHAVIOURAL ATTRIBUTES):

- Administration
- Knowledge of employee disciplinary process
- Knowledge of maintenance and operation
- Computer literacy - Skilled in MS Office and especially in Excel.
- Analytical skills
- Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with others in order to encourage and support communication and teamwork.
- Ability to accomplish tasks and processes accurately and completely.
- Ability to actively participate as a member of a team to move toward the completion of goals.
- Ability to Identify problems, determine possible solutions, and actively work to resolve the issues.
- Ability to provide guidance and feedback to help an employee or groups of employees strengthen their knowledge,
- Ability to convey information clearly and concisely
- Ability to use appropriate interpersonal skills and methods to reduce tension and resolve conflict

ADDED ADVANTAGES AND PREFERENCES:

- PSIRA registration
- 3 - 5 Years’ experience in an institute of higher education

The annual remuneration package will be commensurate with the incumbent’s level of appointment, as determined by UP policy guidelines. UP subscribes to the BESTMED and UMVUZO medical aid schemes and contributes 50% of the applicable monthly premium.

The all-inclusive remuneration package for this contract position will be commensurate with the incumbent’s level of appointment, as determined by UP policy guidelines.
