Media Specialist

-The main purpose of this position is to plan, oversee and execute the media buying and advertising plan for the currency upgrade programme, ensuring that it is executed within scope, timelines, and budget, and aligned to the communication strategy objectives within the South African Reserve Bank (SARB) Group.
-Detailed Description
Manage a fit for purpose advertising and media buying plan, aligned to the upgrade of the currency campaign.
- Identify and recommend advertising space on appropriate and relevant traditional and digital media channels within the prescribed budget.
- Manage media buying bookings with the media organisation on behalf of the SARB and ensure that correct placements are purchased at the correct time for the agreed duration.
- Liaise with the creative agency and media organisations including SABC, Prime media, DSTV, online media organisations and others, to ensure agreed deliverables are delivered to deadline on for the campaign.
- Develop and maintain relationships with media organisations staff and agencies to ensure successful delivery.
- Monitor status, collect, analyse data and provide integrated, value-creating management/stakeholder reports across all media platforms.
- Track key performance metrics and recommend opportunities to the head of communication, and adapt plans where necessary.
- Oversee and manage outside broadcasts events to ensure maximum exposure for the SARB, liaising with the SARB stakeholder management teams.
- Manage campaign expenses to remain on budget, estimate costs, and reconcile discrepancies.
- Provide administrative support to the campaign including arranging meetings, write reports and perform all other relevant functions.
- Produce a close out report on the media buying activities.
Job Requirements
A minimum of a B degree (NQF 7) in Journalism, Communications, Marketing or equivalent.
- A minimum of 3 - 6 years’ experience in strategic advertising and campaign management.
