**JOB OVERVIEW**:
**Sanford Federal, Inc.** Is looking for Portuguese Language Media Consultant to support the US embassy in Pretoria, South Africa.

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- Edited video-taped policy messages
- "Infographics" to visually represent data points
- Photographs of events relevant to local audiences
- Interactive online engagements
- Editing of videos that draw on still images and video clips released by the U.S.

Department of State.

**Consultation Services for Portuguese-Language Spokesperson (FLOX)**

**Training Assistance**

The specialist/contractor will be requested to translate documentation and/or presentations into Continental Portuguese for use in training activities across Posts the Lusophone world. They might be requested to provide assistance with training presentations in coordination with the FLOX in specific Lusophone Posts.

**Media Monitoring**:

- Prepare a regular report on Lusophone African media, focusing on:
▪ original content written by Lusophone journalists [i.e., not wire reports]

▪ opinion pieces published in the name of outlet editors, opinion leaders, and

public figures

▪ content displaying hallmarks of PRC or Russian influence, or advocating in favor

of the PRC or Russia

▪ published statements by local and national leaders
- Prepare a regular report on high-profile issues of Department concern, such as the

Russian war on Ukraine
- On an ad hoc basis, review lusophone African media for coverage of specific events
- Assist with building and maintaining list of media contacts in Lusophone Africa
- As needed, report on prominent journalists and up-and-coming journalists and opinion leaders
- As needed, broker contact between Portuguese Language Spokesperson and prominent journalists
- Assist Portuguese Language Spokesperson to conduct media activities in Africa:

- As needed, arrange interviews for Spokesperson on regional issues
- Draft scripts for Spokesperson video/social media clips
- Translation of and creation of original social media content in continental Portuguese
- Quality control translated press releases and media products from State Department
- Implement video captioning for videos and social media content
- Create media narratives on Lusophone countries.
- Attend staff meetings and remote press briefings of the Africa Regional Media Hub

Pay: R11,000.00 - R15,000.00 per month
