**JOB SUMMARY**

Management of the entire Front Office function within the Hotel.

The Front Office Manager is responsible for the management, operation and the staffing of the following functions:

- Reception
- Telephonist / Switch board
- Porterage

Ensures that all reports associated with the department are accurate and produced on time.

Supplies relevant information to other departments to assists them in planning and running their departments.

Maintains excellent relationships with Hotel guests.

Maintain a presence in the lobby during peak checkin and checkout times, assisting with guest queries.

Fully familiarized with all hotel and company policies, as well as hotel programmes offered such as Loyalty programmes, audit and service measurement programmes and merit awards.

Participate in company and hotel induction-and refresher programmes Demonstrate exceptional level of professionalism, maturity and emotional intelligence at all times.

Constantly assesses the training requirements of the functions as managed and implements regular training programmes

Attends regular meetings with other management members as defined by the General Manager to facilitate the smooth running of the department and the rest of the Hotel.

Accountable for all IRENE COUNTRY LODGE Policies regarding all departmental matters being adhered to.

Completes employee appraisals of department staff every quarter (Monthly within probation period / counselling period).

Responsible for a timeously submission of training reports and exception reports. Prepares a report on balance rooms cleaned versus rooms sold daily.

**EDUCATION AND EXPIRIENCE**
- Grade 12 /Matric certificate.
- Diploma in hotel management or customer service.
- 2-3 years’ experience in a supervisory or management position in the hotel industry.

**CORE WORK ACTIVITIES**
- Effectively communicates guest requests and concerns to all other departments including housekeeping, front office, food and beverage.
- Develops an ambitious working pace ensuring all reservations are completely reviewed at least 3 days before their arrival date.
- Control departmental inbox and takes ownership of all incoming guest requests from initial introduction to completion.
- Take every opportunity to anticipates guest needs and exceeds their expectations.
- Contribute to the development of policies and procedures as well as the implementation of improvements made to the department
- Be the liaison between guests and the hotel through effective communication by conducting pre arrival and monthly associate meetings as per Marriott standards.
- Be able to effectively review guest complains while finding amicable resolutions

Pay: R30 000,00 - R35 000,00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Centurion, Gauteng: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)
