Key Activities
a) Fellowship management
Contribute to the overall development and strategic direction of Tekano through leading medium - long term programmatic strategic plans, policies, and operating procedures
Lead and manage the fellowship partnerships including designing the Fellows Calendar, communicating key dates and going on on-site visits, managing feedback.
Input into the programmes policies and procedures relating to the Fellowship programme
Lead and manage the recruitment of the Fellows, develop and implement the fellowship recruitment strategy.
Manage the Fellowship from induction as Yearlong Fellows through to participating as Lifelong Fellows.
Lead the Fellows individual journey, management of the coaching programme
Ensure availability and provision of wellbeing support to Fellows as and when required, working with the fellows coordinator
Track the financial and administrative tasks of the Fellowship programme
Contribute towards the programme budget and monitor the relevant Fellowship programme budget, preparing budget modifications as necessary.
Lead the annual fellows workshops in collaboration with the team
b) Partnership management
Build and maintain a range of partnerships to provide meaningful experience for the Fellows as they transition from Yearlong to Lifelong fellows.
Build and grow partnerships to support the recruitment of Tekano Fellows and deepen programme impact
Identify resourcing opportunities for the Fellows Social Change Initiatives; contribute to community-building through regular communications and convenings
Explore and coordinate Fellows participation in events and identify partnership opportunities for the Fellowship Programmes
Build positive relationships with Fellows, key partners and stakeholders at local, provincial, national and global level
Build collaborative learning relationships with other South African Fellowship Programmes including the Year Long and Lifelong Leads in other Atlantic Philanthropies Programmes for shared learning and experiences
Contribute the work of affinity groups and catalytic communities in collaboration with the Fellowship Programmes Manager
Work with the procurement and Operations Manager to develop, negotiate and manage contracts and/or agreements with external partners &/ facilitators.
c) Impact
Work closely with the MEL Manager to evaluate fellowship activities, and social change initiatives, including the impact of the Fellows activities and initiatives
Actively participate in research, continual learning, reflection and improvement within the fellowship programmes
Track Fellows -specific SCI projects, with a focus on the impact of the health equity community-building initiatives
Attend relevant meetings to serve as representative for Tekano.
d) People management
Develop a team culture that values collaboration internally, cross-functionally and in partnership with other departments
Support both the professional and personal development of staff, ensuring that they can be proactive on all matters, thus maximising and integrating the effectiveness of the service they provide
Ensure that the team delivers their planned outcomes and that their agreed targets are met in line with the Organisational Strategy.
Work with the MEL manager to contribute towards team development, based on lesson emerging from the fellowship programme.
e) Ad hoc duties
Any other related work allocated by the programmes director

Collaboration -work collaboratively across TEKANO project initiatives/ functions, in a team-orientated organisation to support Tekano’s purpose and build the organisation.

**REQUIREMENTS**:
Core role competencies

Strong programme planning, management and implementation skills
Strong interpersonal relationship and cross -cultural communication skills
Experience and knowledge in partnership development and stakeholder management
Understanding of financial management processes within the non-profit sector.
Ability to motivate others and people management experience
High level of attention to detail and the ability to work with accuracy.
Knowledge and experience in fellowship programme management
Knowledge and experience in monitoring, evaluation and innovative learning methodologies
Advocacy, campaigning and policy influencing skills
Experience and knowledge on how social change happens
Strong interpersonal, negotiation and persuasion skills.
The ability to work well under pressure while juggling multiple projects.
Persistence, enthusiasm and perseverance.
Excellent communication and reporting skills.
Strong analytical skills.
