Entersekt is looking for an engineering leader who is excited by the idea of delivering software that demonstrates a solution to a real-word business case. As a product company, it is essential that we use and expand our own products to show what can be done. Making a success of this position will require a good understanding of the business case, and a knack for choosing the right path to an efficient proof of concept (POC). In some cases, this concept might even be used as a first implementation for production. These projects are typically customer
- or partner-facing and time sensitive, requiring of you and your team to be nimble and adjust plans as we discover more about the product as we will often not have the full details of the end result.

**The Role**

In this role, you will be expected to accompany our Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and Product teams to customer meetings to get a first-hand understanding of their technical needs and POC product expectations. You will need to make judgements and help shape the project scope including setting delivery milestones and dates. As a consumer of the product, you will work very closely with the Product and Software Engineering teams to give feedback on the product and its usability, and advise on implementation of new features based on your learnings during POCs and other projects.

**Responsibilities**
- Your POC work would be exploratory, usually involving small-to-medium-sized projects and may or may not be completed, depending on our findings. There is no need continuing with a project if we can determine early on that the concept will not work; finding that out early is also a win.
- You will manage a small, multi-functional team of permanent developers to help execute on software prototypes and POCs, exploring the possibilities of technology and proving new business concepts.
- You will also be responsible for the maintenance, replacement, and expansion of the various platforms your team owns. Depending on the nature of the project, the team may also be expanded to include other internal team members as well as external consultants.
- As part of the role, you may also be expected to work with and integrate to other partners' solutions as required.
- As team lead, you will be expected to lead the concept implementation and design, and choose the appropriate tools and technologies to achieve the end goal.
- You'll need to manage and guide the team on the most effective route to achieve the project objectives. In doing so, you will be responsible for hiring decisions, development discussions, and salary and performance reviews for the R&D team.
- The role will require a blend of technical abilities as well as an understanding of the business solution and goals you are trying to achieve.
- As a leader, you will need to guide and mentor permanent and temporary members in mastering the tricks of the trade and working in a nimble and reactive way.
- You will regularly interface with company stakeholders to identify new product ideas and research areas.

**Skills and Experience**
- Troubleshooting and integration skills.
- Experience with coordinating software implementation as well as design.
- A solid understanding of, and experience in, OO and architectural design patterns.
- Experience with Agile development frameworks like Scrum and Kanban.
- Creating unique SDLC environments and systems.
- Preparing POC infrastructure (networks, servers).
- Good working knowledge of security and cryptography concepts (we do build security solutions after all).
- A willingness to engage with clients to understand their requirements.
- Ability to manage projects with third-party providers and partners.
- The ability to research new technologies autonomously and understand their applicability to Entersekt.
