Duties/Pligte
- Coordinating and presenting Academic and Professional Literacies modules at undergraduate and postgraduate level;
- Developing course materials that are driven by innovative and appropriate teaching techniques (including blended learning materials)and that create interest, understanding and enthusiasm amongst students;
- Managing all administration relating to relevant modules;
- Managing the budget for the module and the ordering of course materials;
- Liaising with faculties regarding Academic and Professional Literacies courses;
- Training and mentoring facilitators in Academic and Professional Literacies;
- Continuously reviewing and refining syllabus and course materials, tests and other assessments, and updating all of these when required;
- Presenting ad hoc workshops and short courses on Academic and Professional Literacies to undergraduate and postgraduate students, as well as to external clients where required;
- Performing context-specific research to inform best practice in the field of Academic and Professional Literacies and for reporting purposes.
- Koördineer en bied Akademiese en Professionele Geletterdheidsmodules aan op voorgraadse en nagraadse vlak;
- Ontwikkel kursusmateriaal wat gedryf word deur innoverende en toepaslike onderrigtegnieke (insluitend gemengde leermateriaal) en wat belangstelling, begrip en entoesiasme onder studente wek;
- Bestuur alle administrasie met betrekking tot toepaslike modules;
- Bestuur die begroting vir die module en die bestel van kursusmateriaal;
- Skakel met fakulteite oor Akademiese en Professionele Geletterdheidskursusse;
- Mentor en lei fasiliteerders op in Akademiese en Professionele Geletterdheid;
- Deurlopende hersiening en verfyning van sillabus
- en kursusmateriaal, toetse en ander assesserings, en opdatering daarvan wanneer nodig;
- Bied ad hoc-werkswinkels en kort kursusse oor Akademiese en Professionele Geletterdheid aan vir voorgraadse en nagraadse studente, asook vir eksterne kliënte waar nodig;
- Doen konteks-spesifieke navorsing om beste praktyk op die vakgebied van Akademiese en Professionele Geletterdheid toe te lig en vir verslagdoeningsdoeleindes.

Job Requirements/Pos Vereistes
- An appropriate master's degree in Applied Linguistics, Second Language Acquisition, or other related fields;
- At least three years' teaching experience in the higher education environment, specifically in Academic and Professional Literacies;
- Experience in curriculum development and assessment protocols;
- Highly developed organisational skills and the ability to work in a complex academic environment;
- Experience in blended learning and developing e-learning material;
- The ability to manage time efficiently and work to strict deadlines;
- Evidence of teaching ability and fostering a positive learning environment for students;
- Computer literacy in MS Office (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams);
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
- 'n Geskikte meestersgraad in Toegepaste Taalkunde, Tweedetaalverwerwing of ander verwante vakgebiede;
- Minstens drie jaar se onderrigervaring in 'n hoëronderrigomgewing, spesifiek in Akademiese en Professionele Geletterdheid;
- Ervaring met kurrikulumontwikkeling en assesseringsprotokolle;
- Hoogs ontwikkelde organisatoriese vaardighede en die vermoë om in 'n komplekse akademiese omgewing te werk;
- Ervaring van gemengde leer en ontwikkeling van e-leermateriaal;
- Die vermoë om tyd effektief te bestuur en by streng sperdatums te hou;
- Bewese onderrigvermoë en skep van 'n positiewe leeromgewing vir studente;
- Rekenaargeletterdheid in MS Office (bv., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook en Teams);
- Uitstekende interpersoonlike, mondelinge en skriftelike kommunikasievaardighede.

Recommendation/Aanbeveling
- PhD or enrolled for a PhD;
- Commitment to continuous professional development;
- Knowledge of Stellenbosch University's learning management system (Moodle);
- Evidence of accredited publications in Academic Literacies, Second Language Acquisition and / or related fields.
