Duties/Pligte
- Developing and delivering academic content within the postgraduate programmes in development finance;
- Managing and coordinating the delivery of the modules within the postgraduate programmes;
- Developing a research agenda and collaborations to publish in internationally recognised, peer-reviewed journals;
- Through teaching and research, promoting the social impact of Stellenbosch Business School;
- Supervising postgraduate research at Master's and PhD-levels, commensurate with the level of appointment;
- Expanding the networks between the Stellenbosch Business School and national and international development finance organisations;
- Participating in the administration of some departmental activities and helping to shape the strategic direction of the development finance group commensurate with the level of appointment.

Job Requirements/Pos Vereistes

**For Lecturer**:

- Master's degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent, e.g., development finance, development studies, finance, economics, or statistics;
- Research potential and demonstrable ongoing commitment to research, e.g., may be currently completing PhD studies in a relevant field;
- Quantitative and qualitative evidence of teaching experience;
- Good organisational and personal management skills;
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.

**For Senior Lecturer**:

- PhD in a relevant discipline, e.g., development finance, development studies, finance, economics, or statistics;
- Experience with public or private organisations, consulting activities, and/or policy;
- Established record of research and research publication in nationally and international recognised peer-reviewed journals;
- Successfully completed postgraduate supervision;
- Experience of teaching and the scholarship of teaching relevant to development finance;
- Commitment to creating impact through research and scholarship;
- Commitment to engaging in academic administration activities
- Quantitative and qualitative evidence of teaching experience;
- Good organisational and personal management skills;
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.

**For Associate Professor**:

- PhD degree in a relevant discipline, e.g., development finance, development studies, finance, economics, or statistics;
- Experience and engagement with public or private organisations, consulting activities, and/or policy that demonstrate leadership and expertise;
- National and international recognition as a researcher;
- A sustained record of research and research publications in nationally and internationally recognised, peer-reviewed journals relevant to development finance;
- A record of past research and a future research agenda relevant for development finance;
- Participation in appropriate external professional activities;
- Supervision and examination at PhD and Master's level;
- Teaching and the scholarship of teaching relevant to development finance, with evidence of or potential for academic leadership of postgraduate programmes;
- Commitment to creating impact through research and scholarship;
- Academic management and leadership skills;
- Quantitative and qualitative evidence of teaching experience;
- Good organisational and personal management skills;
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.

Recommendation/Aanbeveling
- Evidence of a research plan which will plausibly lead to future publications in internationally peer-reviewed journals;
- Experience of, or commitment to, preparation of bids for externally funded research projects commensurate with the level of appointment;
